Context
The CBS Network is right now at Number One in the American TV network audience wars.
CBS is one of the very best parts of the Viacom brand. It has come to be so liked, watched and respected in the US in part because it has long been dominant in the area of fine investigative reporting.
So why has CBS’s 48 Hours coverage of the Meredith Kercher case been so uniformly appalling? So biased, so emotional, so full of hyperbole and so FACTUALLY FLAT-OUT WRONG?
We frankly don’t know. But we continue our series examining past CBS reporting of the case, and revealing it for the almost consistent junk it has been.
[ADDED: CBS HAS REMOVED THE VIDEO, POSSIBLY BECAUSE IT MADE WILD CLAIMS AGAINST THE POLICE WHICH COULD SEE CBS IN COURT]

My own time perusing the area of the house in July was about eight hours in total (daytime and nightime) on three consecutive days.
The third was at Kermit’s suggestion that I go back and check out the angles of those CCTV cameras on the parking facility.
I think that if you can be RIGHT THERE you are almost instantly overwhelmed by how easy it would be for Signora Nara to have seen and heard precisely what she claimed.
Kermit says how well-lit it all is around there, and he proves how all of the the sight-lines are just right.
And there’s another point that we have discussed over at the forum: this is a REALLY quiet area at night.
If there are no cars around - and most of the time at night, there are no cars - this is a REALLY quiet neighborhood.
The “uninvited chubby bard” Paul the PI presumably spent no more than an hour or two in the area.
But even he must have realized just how easy it would be to fact-check his absurd report and take him down.
No wonder, then, that on the CBS video Paul looks so flustered and squeaky. Gotcha, Paul, as you just knew someone would.
You really are full of it.
Harry Rag sent Paul Ciolino Kermit’s powerpoint presentation. Here’s Paul Ciolino’s reply:
Many thanks for the pp pres. It always amazes me at the number of losers out there who actually have time to do this sort of thing. If you actually had balls enough to use your real name, or in the alternative had any idea what you were talking about, I might actually give a shit about what you have to say. In any event thanks for the giggle. On second thought maybe you should consider getting a job. You might find it more rewarding then living in Mommy’s basement.
I take it Paul didn’t appreciate Kermit’s work. I just hope Anne Bremner is more appreciative…
So you can see above how Paul Ciolino responded to an email drawing his attention to this post.
Instead of contending with the actual hard points made in Kermit’s amazing Powerpoints - which absolutely destroy any credibility Ciolino may have had - he offers only coarse abuse.
Kermit in part responded to Ciolino’s bluster thus:
While there are many posters with much greater knowledge than I about the many, many aspects of the crime in Perugia, I’m surprised that the handful of points which I included in the presentation were not dealt with by the guy. Why did he send a kid running down the asphalt when he should have had the kid pound frenetically up the metallic staircase? Why didn’t he look out the window? Why did he not confirm (for example, with a simple Google search) that Nara had spoken with police early on in the investigation.
Oh and Ciolino’s point about losers? WE are the losers?! My guess is that the truth-watchers here and on related sites exceed Ciolino in terms of net worth and graduate degrees by a factor of many times over.
This is just bad journalism!
Hasn’t he noticed that the windows in mrs Nara apartment were very different from the ones in that other lady upstairs apartment? Mrs Nara has very old windows, the other lady has new, with double glass windows. I am italian, and when I studied in Bologna I had the VERY SAME windows mrs Nara has: you can hear ANYTHING happening outside! Even pretty far away!
of course with the new windows you can’t hear anything! they’re almost soundproof! we have them in my home and they’re wonderful if you live in a city! they block most of noises!
So what would that prove? That’s just bad journalism!
