Also, The spokeman for the Police Union SAP has said today that they are sick of allegations of wrongdoing against officers and says they are monitoring this case with a view to defending members interests… (presumably legal action?) libero news
Seems like Knox’s defense have decided that it is better to risk slander convictions if it helps to avoid a murder conviction ?.
If knox can convince the court that she blamed Patrick due to police brutality, doesn’t that:
1. Clear her of both slander charges
2. Move her some way to a non guilty verdict on the murder.
The alternative would seem to risk being convicted of all three charges?
Hi Kevin. There may be one slander charge - the investigation is still going on - and it is possible there may be video or audio evidence of how the interrogations went.
We rather doubt there can be any charge resulting from the new claims on the stand as they are privileged.
Hi Kevin
I have read the same article and I believe they will carefully monitor and eventually pursue the matter.
There are multiple witnesses who have declared under oath that Amanda was not abused, and her lawyers have not lodged a complaint yet as far as I know.
Today Mignini asked Amanda to say who the “abusive” cop was and her reply was vague: “A woman with dark hair, I don’t know her name”.
I don’t think she is convincing at all.
Peter, Nicki,
The way I read it, it was a ‘not very veiled threat’ of legal action ?. Could be they want to use this high profile case to to make their point?
Michael at PMF is explaining how Knox may be snookered on this all this anyway. The interview in which she claims to have been hit, which ended at 01:45 was not the one where she made all the detailed statements about Patrick, which was the one starting at 03:30 with Mignini.
Audio of yeserdays hearing has lots of very interesting stuff, highlights are maybe:
1. Knox called her mother at midday on Nov 2 (phone records). Even her mother expressed suprise to get called in the middle of the night ‘when nothing had happened yet’ (bugged conversation in jail 10th Nov).
Thats the only thing that really threw her, and then not completely and not for long.
2. Prosecutor has got hold of the FBI report on the Knox’s leaving party, which she described as ending with something like a ‘parking fine’... she might regret that?.
