If Rudy Guede Testifies On Monday As He Might, It Could Be Game Over For Sollecito And Knox

Posted by Peter Quennell

Rudy Guede might be compelled by the judge and prosecution on Monday to testify at length. He does not seem to have a legal reason not to as the Supreme Court set his sentence in stone.

He may of course really want to. Guede seems tired of being painted as the lone wolf or the wolf with two other accomplices.

In March last year he was decidedly ticked off when Mario Alessi began quoting or misquoting his claims about involvement. Here is the public letter he issued at the time, which inspired Mignini and Comodi to go interview him.

Guede’s letter to News Mediaset translated by TJMK poster Tiziano.

The complete text of the letter written by the Ivory Coast man.

Viterbo 07/03/2010

As usual in this beloved beautiful country of ours, there are many dishonest people given over to lying.  And there are likewise those who give these people a voice without the slightest questioning of their consciences, whether it’s worth the trouble of giving space to certain conjectures.

In recent days the only things I have heard have been blasphemous insinuations about me; baseless gossip which has done nothing other than harrying, hither and thither, TV news channels, even though for reasonable people it is the pure invention of a wicked mind.

It must be said that all I have heard in recent days in the media, about what has been falsely stated by this foul being by the name of Mario Alessi, whose conscience is nothing but stinking garbage, are purely and simply the ravings of a sick and twisted mind, his ravings are the dreamed-up, untrue declarations of a monster who sullied himself with a frightful murder in which he took the life of an angelic little human being, as is known throughout Italy. This fellow, now, is telling lies about things that I never said to him and (other things) that I never said, things that don’t exist either in this world or the next.

To his ““ or rather their- rotten declarations, it’s my intention to put in black and white that I never confided in this disgusting creature, since moreover that I’ve got nothing to confess or anything else (to say), and everything that I had to say I have already said to the judges and I will go on shouting and fighting while I am still alive, until the truth itself and justice itself prevail over such lies, and even less did I speak one to one or together with other people or with other inmates about my trial affairs, and if I had ever had something to say, don’t you believe that I would have talked about it with my lawyers?  Giving rise to and giving credit to what is a blasphemous statement made by a sick mind, to a monster who had no pity for a child.

With this latest scenario, which my lawyers, my family and I are now used to, from this latest person, the monster Alessi, I hope that Italians and the rest of the world realise that they are dealing with pigs, pigs which stink of the slime of falsehood, but which, not withstanding everything, go around showing their faces and suffocating people with their fetid lying.

Like their umpteenth scenario which does nothing more than give me the strength and the awareness to struggle more than ever, so that the truth that they want to hide is revealed for everyone to see.

As far as I’m concerned, (I have) the serenity and the calm of complete peace of mind, as a person who does not parade this unfair suffering, but who trusts in justice and in the good sense of Italians.

And finally I wish that sooner or later the judges will recognise my complete non-involvement in what was the horrible murder of the splendid, magnificent girl who was Meredith Kercher, by Raffaelle Sollecito and Amanda Knox.

Guede Rudy

See that final paragraph? It seems likely that he explained as much to Mignini and Comodi when they interviewed him in March 2010 in Viterbo (nothing has ever been released about what he said) and on Monday Judge Hellman could press him for proofs.

Past posts worth reading in this context are this one on his rather sad growing up and this one on the Supreme Court’s reasons for rejecting his final appeal, stating that three people had to have done it.

Also this one on one of his online conversations from Germany in 2007 with a Perugia friend, kindly translated by a PMF team.

Thank goodness, your original headline said “tomorrow” and I really was sure it was on Monday.

Sorree, Ergon. I had to get up two posts in a hurry this morning and return to work. It is to be Monday for sure.

Peter,
Thanks for posting Guede’s letter. Even if Guede continues to maintain that he did not participate in the killing, he could add details about what he saw Knox and Sollecito do. Those details could be damning for them. His testimony placing Knox in the apartment at the time of the murder would corroborate Knox’s own statement in which she admitted being there. I doubt Knox and Sollecito will be sleeping well between now and Monday!

I’ve just re-read Guede’s online conversation. His reason to be there doesn’t make sense from what we know of Meredith - but the rest confirms all the damning points for Knox and Sollecito : money had disappeared and there was an argument pending over it with drugged-out Amanda ; whoever came in, came in through the door and without violence - which does point to a roommate being involved, and the only one still without an alibi (thanks to Sollecito) is Knox ; Meredith screamed so loudly that it could be heard in the street - which it was ; there was a chestnut haired man, no taller than him - just like Sollecito is ; Guede left covered in blood, while Meredith was still dressed, and the front window unbroken. Forensics do show that she still had her bra on until some time after her death, and that the window was broken from inside… When the postal police arrived, they did find Knox and Sollecito just finishing a clean up (though they say it was of Sollecito’s flat).

For someone deemed a patented liar by the Knox-Mellas PR, there are more verified elements in his sayings than in all of Knox’s and Sollecito’s combined (and mutually excluding) declarations…

By the way, were the wet clothes in the washing machine definitively recognized as being the ones that Meredith wore the previous day ?

I hope that Guede speaks out, and tells whatever really happened to poor Meredith. How much Knox had planned it in advance, and what part of what would happen did she and Sollecito tell him ahead, in order to lure him into participating : a black guy who was already in trouble, an ideal scapegoat. He has nothing to lose now ; even if he admits his participation in the killing, he could easily portray himself as pushed by the others. Since we know he was not attracted to Meredith, but to Knox - and that Knox had a grudge against Meredith.

If this is really Rudy Guede’s letter, he doesn’t fear retaliation for accusing Amanda Knox & Raffaele Sollecito.  And he appears to be ready to tell at least something crucial of what happened that fatal night—let us hope so.

Unfortunately, Guede is also among the liars in this case & is so unbalanced in his estimate of himself that insinuations made of him can be called “blasphemous.” And when speaking of his “complete non-involvement” in contradiction to or even in defiance of uncontested physical evidence, he is seriously compromised.

Certainly, his testimony will render that of the earlier felons null & void, but I am hoping for more than that.

Prompted to read “one of [Rudy’s] online conversations from Germany in 2007 with a Perugia friend” by Sylviane’s post.  But I should have read it before posting my response to the letter.

Much in contrast to the fantastical literary style which Rudy affects in his letter, the online conversation is entirely straightforward & natural. Sylviane’s summary is good but I think, to the contrary, that Rudy’s reason for going to the cottage is very plausibly presented (even if it may be, of course, a lie) whereas his story falls apart, suddenly, when he invents a ringing doorbell while in the john.

Reason why this discrepancy is worth pointing out here: Rudy’s claim that Amanda & Raffaele murdered Meredith is undercut by his own statement that he’s “got nothing to confess” because it is Only his presence that could attest such knowledge on his part. And in his online conversation he practically excuses A&R by inventing fantasmal persons coming & going & seen by him.

Rudy is just as firmly joined to his declaration of innocence (by this evidence) as is Amanda joined to hers.  Neither will budge & I am now less hopeful of a decisive outcome.

Rachel Sterne’s hijacked group blog “Ground Report” is posting that Rudy Guede did it alone.

Ground Report has now become the the most reliably inaccurate media website “reporting” on the case.

CNN is reporting that Guede denied ever saying Knox and Sollecito were not involved in the murder.

Looks like yet another Last Best Hope has passed them by. How many Last Best Hopes do these two killers get?
