Questions For Sollecito: Did Your Father & Lawyers Pre-Approve This Rant?

Posted by Our Main Posters

[Francesco Sollecito previously on Italian national TV trying to explain the weirdness of his son]

This is in response to your open letter to Italy’s TGCom website.

You are starting to sound eerily like the serial killer Ted Bundy in jubilant “catch me if you can” mode. Ted Bundy also thought he was the brightest guy on the block and the cops, prosecutors and judges were all a few bricks short of a wall.

Ted Bundy was of course caught, by smart cops, and put on trial, by smart prosecutors in front of a smart judge and jury. He made a terrible hash of his defence, he was unanimously found guilty, by a jury of smart peers, and he was made to pay his dues to society and the victims’ families - with his life.

You posted this to an audience in Italy which for the most part thoroughly dislikes you, when you are already in line for sentences that could cost you 30 years ranging up to life.

So. Did your father Francesco and your lawyers Bongiorno and Maori (and all of Knox’s people) give you the go-ahead for this seriously bizarre rant, or not?

Once upon a time, there was Amanda and Raffaele, she was an American student, studying languages and he studying Computer Science. They met at a classical concert and fell in love…  no wait like that it is too boring….Lets make it more intriguing, lets see…..I know!

The prosecution found a crazy drunk, and cocaine dealer, Kokomani, after a year the story becomes: Amanda and Raffaele met in August, no one knows how or when, and one day at a bar, where Kokomani would get drunk, Amanda’s uncle came from America, no one knows why or when, and introduces the fiancees ( about to get married, I would say at this point) to the ignorant (unknown) Kokmani (who maybe thought he was going to be the best man) it’s clear. UNDERLINING that he is Amanda’s uncle and the two young people are Amanda and Raffaele (famous at the time, after all)

Mmmm…...come on it’s not the best, but at least it is more interesting, it doesn’t matter that there is no confirmation to none of this, anyway it’s a movie, OK.  let’ s continue…..

Raffaele rents a house on Corso Garibaldi,  a five minute walk from Via della Pergola, where Amanda lives with three roommates, Meredith, Filomena and Laura. The two pass many days together, they cuddle, have fun, they have outings to towns close to Perugia, and a couple of times they have lunch at Amanda’s house with the other flatmates. They live enthusiastic days, smiling every time they look in each others eyes….. Halloween Day, Oct. 31 2007, Amanda goes to work at Patrick Lumumba’s pub, so Raffaele works on his thesis and late that night they meet up….. to be together as always, taking care of each other.

Uff! What a pain in the ass! Give this movie a bit of adrenaline, what the hell! O.K. O.K…...one day along comes a heroin addicted serial super witness brought by the prosecution who says that he saw Amanda and Raffaele in Piazza Grimana, by a small villa a few feet from via della Pergola, discussing vividly, no one knows what and no one knows what day, but it happened at 9:00p.m. to 11:00p.m. circa. It doesn’t matter that the night between the end of Oct. and beginning of Nov. was freezing cold, it doesn’t matter that Raffaele has a house where he can do what the hell he wants, but according to the heroin addicted serial super witness, the two were under the rain for three hours (if we are talking about Nov. 1, 2007) and the cold discussing who knows what, furthermore, the heroin addicted serial super witness of murders (who’s name is Curatolo) says that when he went back to Piazza Grimana the two contentious fiancees were no longer there and he saw the buses that go to the discos boarding the kids…..it doesn’t matter that the 1st of Nov. there is not a bus in this world because the night at the disco was on the night of Halloween, Oct.31, 2007…...for the Pubblico Ministero Giuliano Mignini, Curatolo was a credible witness. Even because heroin does not produce hallucinations while cannabis does.

In reality the two fiancees passed the evening and the night at Raffaeles’s house since it was free and they had an intensive week of commitments. The 1st of Nov. in particularly Amanda had to work at Patrick’s pub, but as the evening was not busy he did not need Amanda, and after a friend of Raffaele’s passed by to cancel an appointment to go to the bus station, suddenly the two fiancees had the night free and they passed the time watching the movie “il favoloso mondo di Ameliè”, then eating fish Amanda read Harry Potter in German to Raffaele and they made love all night…...

Il Giudice di Primo Grado, Giancarlo Massei took in full the version of the heroin addicted serial super witness tramp….. Come on Giancarlo we are still not satisfied! Come on! These two fiancees are cramming our balls!! You are all of us….

According to the reconstruction of Judge Giancarlo Massei, that sentenced Amanda and Raffaele to 25 and 26 years in prison, things went this way: Amanda and Raffaele after being 3 hours in the cold under the rain, the night of the 1st of November 2007, head toward Amanda’s house in Pergola street and go right away into Amanda’s room (a room that was smaller than Raffaele’s cell when he was in prison) and start making love to bother Meredith who was reading a book in the other room…doesn’t matter that more than 5 people had car trouble and were waiting for a tow-truck, in front of the house during that time, and they give testimony that nobody passed by

Sorry, but why didn’t Amanda and Raffaele go to Raffaele’s house that was free and nobody would have been bothered?.. .  Come-on! Why do you have to take into consideration this useless details, show us some firecrackers! Go Giancarlo!

Judge Massei continues: sometime during the evening, while the two were having sex in Amanda’s room, suddenly somebody knocked at the door… Amanda and gets up and gets dressed goes to the door and who does she see? ...Rudy Guede, a colored guy that didn’t know anybody except the guys of the lower floor and had met Amanda and Meredith one time but never in his life had he met Raffaele,. that urgently needed to take a shit.

But what?! What kind of plot is this? Where in the hell do you see that people go around knocking on doors because they need to take a shit?... Come on Giancarlo do not disappoint us! But judge Massei does not disappoint us…. Meanwhile Amanda opens the door to the poor black, victim of bewitched charm for Amanda, and goes inside to go to take a shit…. and Amanda as if nothing happen, goes back in the room and gets undressed again…

But why couldn’t Meredith go open the door while she was reading a book?..Oh, right! Otherwise Amanda loose the part of the main actress, sorry, you are right!

Practically , according to Judge Giancarlo Massei’s reconstruction the story goes on like this : while Amanda and Raffaele went back to have sex, Rudy Guede comes out of the bathroom, after listening to some songs on his ipod, he is overwhelmed by the SEXUAL VIBRATIONS that Amanda and Raffaele were relishing in the house hallway and the house room….

WTF Giancarlo, this is tough shit! Not even Dario Argento could come up with something like that…. “SEXUAL VIBRATIONS”....WTF you are a genius!! Give me five!...but the good part has still to come: when Guedé smells the SEXUAL VIBRATIONS, all of a sudden he is possessed and decides by all means that he has to have sexual intercourse with Meredith.. and ventures in her room and, being rejected, because poor soul he is ugly, Raffaele and Amanda get into the action and at that point dont help Meredith who is their friend, but, to the contrary and unexpectedly, they help Rudy Guede to rape Meredith and than finish her up cutting her throat…

All three had knives: Rudy has a past as thief, he used to burglarize offices and apartments with the same “modus operandi” that he used to get in in via della Pergola, moreover he has been captured while sleeping in a kindergarten in Milano with a knife in his bag.  Raffaele had always a little collector knife in his pocket: never mind that he never used it to hurt anybody in his life, there are no traces of anybody else on his little knife “¦.Amanda… and Amanda?  Judge Massei says that she used an enormous kitchen knife got from the “looser” Raffaele’s house and put it in her purse…. why?? because…YOU NEVER KNOW (a 15 cm knife can be always useful “¦).. Massei says.

But the poor Meredith was a small build girl, her wounds are not that big and that knife would have gone through the neck because of how big it is… there isn’t blood on that knife nor Meredith’s DNA because the analysis of the scientific police are completely unreliable , not having being compelled to observe the international protocols.  There are no bleach traces. What the police says are hypothesis never proved .

Come on, details! But there are no traces of Amanda and Raffaele on the crime scene, there are only Guede’s, everywhere.  How it is possible that they were cleaned, were are the traces of the cleaning??! Come on do not break our nuts! This is just details, let me see this movie!

What about that little bra hook? There are 5 different profiles…all on the iron part of the hook, nothing on the tissue: it has been found 46 days after the “polizia scientifica” swept the crime scene, and meanwhile even the police swept the scene with no anti-contamination precautions and put upside down the all apartment. There isn’t Raffaele profile on that hook: if that mix of traces is properly read you can find anybody’s DNA

Do you want to stop with these bothersome things?!! Lets finish to see this movie!! Massei concludes: we don’t know why Amanda and Raffaele choose to kill Meredith, but we have to accept their choice. THE EVIL CHOICE. Probably under the influence, because they didn’t despise her, taking into account that they said that they smoked a joint… unfortunately nobody tested to check if Amanda and Raffaele used heavy drugs or were in the habit of binge drinking. WTF! Great job! You weld The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon!! Giancarlo you are my idol!!!!

Nice job, RS! Keep it up and you will no more need any help from anybody else.

It is best to stand aside when the people are digging their own graves.

I have only pity for your lawyers. They have to defend this ...

Good luck and all the best.

Oh boy.  Can’t wait to see the pr team spin this.  No wonder Knox and her mother met w/ him in NY.  But this is beyond damage control.

Posted by Ceylon on 07/03/13 at 06:06 PM | #

There is a lot of contempt and self pity in this rant. My guess is that this springs from Sollecito :-

1. Knowing exactly what happened and that the doddering old fool Massei was not even close.

2. Wanting to tell us exactly what happened (the subjective roles that Cassation has just mentioned) but knowing that he can’t.

It’s eating him up, and this is the only way of letting off steam with the cards now stacked against him.

The allusions to making a movie interest me. Massei as Hitchcock? I don’t think so but I can visualise Sollecito fantasizing directing his own psychological thriller of how he and Knox would have got away with it. All in the realms of fantasy of course but that would make millions - do far better than his own boring ghosted book. And how sweet that ever-to-be-denied triumph would have been. But there will be no “If I Did It” now.

Seriously this guy needs a psychiatrist.

Anyone ever watch Rope?

Posted by James Raper on 07/03/13 at 06:14 PM | #

No words, other than I agree with James that Raffaele needs a psychologist.

In other news, Knox should probably start packing her bags.  Italy-US relations appear to be quite cozy as of today, so I’m guessing that an extradition request is unlikely to be denied (especially for someone with zero political or strategical value).

Posted by Vivianna on 07/03/13 at 06:41 PM | #

This rant is quite telling.  Sollecito is obviously feeling the pressure!

The feigned anger and the attempts at sarcasm are no doubt Sollecito’s idea of how an innocent person would behave in his situation.  Instead, his words point towards his guilt.

He has so very little to rely on in his favour that he has been cornered into over-exaggerating non-points.  For instance, he carries on about their chat outside as though no one, at no point, has ever been crazy enough to stand in the rain!  Again, he stresses how completely unnatural it would be for someone to wish to use someones toilet.  Not only was this very unlikely to be the reason for Guede’s visit, but, even if it were to have been, that would be a normal option given the alternative of pooping your pants in public!

Why call Guede ‘ugly’?  Why mention his colour?  Why call him a ‘thief’?  Sollecito has fallen victim to that false confidence which comes of mistakenly listening to people with no power or influence, and he will come a cropper for it.  The Knox supporters, with their stable of lies, have given him this false confidence and they are actually helping him to hang himself.

Underlying this false bravado is someone close to the edge, who has this week admitted that he and Knox are completely separate in this, and who has already shown a willingness to save his own neck.

If his lawyers have any sense, they will encourage him to tell the truth and bag a deal.  It is his only option for a reduced sentence.  Also, he is broke and so is his family.  A truthful tell-all book would make money for him and he would be out by his 40’s.  He has already sunk to the point that he is begging on-line, he just needs a little push!

The murder case this most reminds me of is Jeffrey MacDonald.  Joe McGinniss described in his book Fatal Vision how, despite being a very intelligent man, MacDonald couldn’t subdue his sociopathic nature from during his trial, and kept saying and doing completely inappropriate things.  That’s why Knox’s parents are keeping such a tight leash on her. But Sollecito is unleashed, and unhinged.

Posted by Ceylon on 07/03/13 at 08:27 PM | #

Sollecito reminds me of Canadian murderer and ex-politician Colin Thatcher:

——————-

According to the trial transcript, Thatcher, enraged that Kujawa had accused his sons of lying in court, shouted: “Why don’t you step out on the Court House steps and say that, where you don’t have immunity?”

Note how he completely avoids talking about his bloody footprint on the bathmat.  I wonder why that is.

Posted by Stilicho on 07/03/13 at 10:40 PM | #

@Ceylon “...Sollecito is unleashed, and unhinged.” Precisely, he is totally hysterical and he dares to curse Judge Massei and use nasty language to him, then ends up mockingly calling Giancarlo his idol.

This rant is a cry for help. It’s a loud mental breakdown in front of the world. Raf is missing dad’s strength and stability and it shows. Didn’t take long.

Raf, you brought all this on yourself. If you weren’t covering up the truth about what Knox did to Meredith I would empathize with your pain. Covering up a crime and lying to save a low morals girlfriend who wasn’t even serious about you destroys your claim to sympathy.

Give it up now, Raf. You’re in chains to someone you hint is analagous to the demon possessed Regan in “The Exorcist” who brings death and destruction to everybody who tries to save her. Then you have the movie “Lethal Weapon” on your mind in the same breath. In that movie the girl Amanda commits suicide by leaping from a window on drugs spiked with drain cleaner. Mel Gibson plays a suicidal police detective grieving over the death of his wife. Raf was grieving over the death of his mom.

Raf you were struck by a thunderbolt, you were burnt. Get out of Amanda’s clutches while you still have time, and stop threatening indirectly to jump out of a window. Nobody wants to see you dead if you didn’t kill anybody. Even if you did, there’s more mercy in life than you realize, use your faith to receive it, but mercy starts with the truth. Regan and her demons pushed the priest out of a window. Is this the kind of emotional blackmail you used on your father for years? Please don’t do anything self-destructive, it won’t help anybody or yourself. There is healing if you come clean, don’t give up hope. Being a fugitive on the run will never solve things or give you the house, loving wife, big happy dog and many children that you said is your dream.

You mock at the judges who say you chose evil, only because you feel guilty for covering up a great evil for the sake of “love”. How weak that love is, you’re now finding out. Stop trying to prove your love and make Amanda prove her love by releasing you. This rant may be a message to your father, save me again.

You are cynical and truly hate Massei. You’re abandoning all restraint, tired of being afraid of “powerful people”. This rant could have been made under the influence of substance abuse. Are you using again?

The Amanda in “Lethal Weapon” was into prostitution and hardcore pornography and a drug obsessed lifestyle that threw her in with thugs. Raffaelle, is that how you saw your Amanda or see her now? Open your eyes, you chose badly, stop throwing good money after bad. Refusing to learn the obvious lesson that Amanda is no good for you and she never will be, that is your downfall. Pride makes you call it devotion and wisdom when it’s total stupidity. Cut the leash. Battered women have had the same struggle and have broken free. There’s dark matter in the universe holding you in place, but you have the power to break loose by telling the truth about Meredith’s death which would clean up this mess. You would find much leniency from the justice system. Doubt and despair only block that.

You said recently your life sucks at the moment. It’s your own fault, not the Italian judges’ fault.

Posted by Hopeful on 07/03/13 at 11:33 PM | #

Wow “Raffy” you sure are showing your true colours now, it is no wonder you wimped out and hid behind Papa’s money and kept your mouth shut during the whole trial and most of the investigation into the brutal murder of the fine Meredith Kercher like the spineless murderous mouse you are.

Met at a classical music concert and fell in love?
Yes, you are right - it is boring to most people.
You really think people believe your lawyer portraying you and your partner in crime as “lovebirds”?
Perhaps you could explain to us your thoughts on your new found love having sex with another guy during the only week you were together while you was at home probably stoned and reading your manga comics?

Posted by Bettina on 07/04/13 at 12:15 AM | #

Oh dear. Seeds of desperation…. I wonder if it’s too late for a psychologist? I wouldn’t want to unravel this at this stage.

A word of advice for Raf from an older lady, probably of the age his mother would have been :
Forget the stories, all of them. The simple, the convoluted, the re-constructed, the speculative - all the stories, let them go, especially Amanda’s.
Start again. From the beginning. Start with facts - you could make a list of the true facts…times, places, people, clothes you were wearing, little things, facts.
Then look at them. That’s enough. Nothing else is required. Begin again.

Psychiatrists? Why do you keep citing them like they are great authorities ?

Posted by aethelred23 on 07/04/13 at 01:51 AM | #

This is just bizarre.  Why in the world would he post this?  Want to dig that hole deeper, do you RS?  Well, you are definitely accomplishing that, if nothing else.

Posted by zinnia on 07/04/13 at 08:54 AM | #

@aethelred23

As I see it, truth and understanding carry authority intrinsically, and some psychologists and some psychiatrists are courageous enough to look for these…and some others not at all, certainly.

Can someone clarify. I was under the impression that it did not rain on the evening of 1/11/2007. I thought it was cold and damp. If it was raining it confounds the theory that Guede accessed the cottage by scaling the wall and leaving no marks even more so.

Posted by starsdad on 07/04/13 at 01:23 PM | #

So let me get this right.

He published this - in Italian - in Italy?

What was TGCom thinking?

Words fail me.

Posted by thundering on 07/04/13 at 02:37 PM | #

P.S. And the chosen photo of Raffie - almost na na na na na (if you know what I mean) !!

Posted by thundering on 07/04/13 at 03:12 PM | #

@Starsdad

I was also curious about what he said about the rain. RS says it was raining, yet Curatolo said he was sitting on the bench he regularly sat on reading a newspaper/magazine on the night of 1st November, and I believe this was verified by a newspaper stall vendor. I couldn’t imagine anyone, not even a homeless man, would sit in the rain and read. Curatolo also testified that he could not confirm the “lovebirds” where in the same spot for a continuous 3 hour period as he only noticed them in the piazza at the times he declared. RS must have missed that part in the trial transcripts when constructing his rant.

There is no question the boy, ahem 29 year old man, is losing the plot. Even if Frank Sforza wrote it for him, RS made the decision to send it to TGCom and post it on his Fakebook page when he knows he is going back to court and rants like this may come back to haunt him. Oh, I hope so.

@Bettina

If the rant is the work of the serial abuser Frank Sforza, do you not find it a coincidence that Frank would do this for RS a couple of weeks after RS opened his begging account, seeing as old Frankie must be in desperate need of funds himself.

Would it be fair to say that RS has become a drifter. No job. No fixed abode. No girlfriend. No money and yet freely travels back and forth to America, sets up a failed business in Switzerland and completes his University degree in Italy.

Posted by TheTruthNotLies on 07/04/13 at 06:54 PM | #

Not only are they confused about the rain but somehow 9 pm until 11 pm becomes three hours.  Curatolo did not testify that Knox and Sollecito were near the edge of the basketball court continuously from 9 pm until 11 pm (or until just before midnight).

Sollecito should know better than this.  If he has evidence he was somewhere else between 9 pm and midnight he should simply produce it.

Posted by Stilicho on 07/04/13 at 08:56 PM | #

I don’t think it was raining, I think he is trying to give his ‘story’ credence. I wish it was raining, he would have to explain how he knew when he was supposed to be in the flat all night!

Posted by starsdad on 07/04/13 at 09:26 PM | #

@Truth..Haha. not coincidental…that’s his pattern. Frank smells a payoff and he will do anything for it. History shows us that Franks level of colorful ranting increases when $$ is the goal. Remember when his “Mignini sent the police to kill me” story raised thousands of dollars for him? Thing is, he never mentioned it when it happened…only months later when he wanted $$?? In ways, Frank is worse than the murders…and, he will receive his reward.
The only thing is find unexplainable is the fact he bad mouthed Raff all over the place…yet they are acting in concert..??
Oh..the stories I wish I could tell..sigh. I am satisfied that beneath the surface, the unjust pig liars are losing balance, which will no doubt lead to ruin.
So now, they taste the bitter fruit of their labors. Huzzah
Blessings to the Kerchers.

Happy 4th of July!

Raffie’s rant is for misdirection, right down to the rain (no rain, that was Oct 31). He taunts Mignini for believing Toto’s testimony. Raf mocks the idea that “heroin does not produce hallucinations but cannabis does”. He calls Koko a “crazy drunk and a cocaine dealer”. He sasses the investigators for not having run drug tests on him and Amanda for “heavy drugs and binge drinking”. Well, he sounds like he’s high on something as he writes this rant.

Toto (Curatolo) did use heroin.

See Yahoo!Answers for the question: Does heroin cause hallucinations? It says of heroin users, “They don’t get trippy at all. Heroin is very sedating, and users will mostly just lounge in a chair…and simply ‘nod’, or go in and out of consciousness.”

Causes of Hallucinations

* being drunk or high, or coming down from marijuana, LSD, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, heroin, ketamine, and alcohol

Check the list, Raffaele. Did you and Amanda drink on November 1st, 2007? Did you use marijuana?  Both those are listed as causes of hallucinations, so you were as likely to be hallucinating as Toto. We know Amanda had a coke dealer on her speed dial, did you and she both try coke, maybe mixing it with some vodka? and you laugh at poor Toto, may he rest in peace. At least he had poverty, old age and physical pain as an excuse, what’s your excuse for destroying your brain cells, when you have a very good mind?

(partial list) see http://www.drugs.com/enc/hallucinations.html

DRUG FACTS (see http://wrighttownshippolice.org/drug facts.htm

Now let’s move on to

              COCAINE
Physical Effects: pupil dilation, elevated blood pressure and heart rate,....restlessness, irritability, insomnia, increased body temp etc.

Psychological Effects: tactile hallucinations, addiction, paranoia, anxiety

Betcha had the paranoia and the anxiety. And it’s a fact that marijuana lowers alcohol tolerance, you get drunk with fewer drinks and can black out.

See http://www.myhealthyfeeling.com/cocaine-and-alcohol-miexed-effects-and-addiction .

The site says “Cocaine and alcohol are hazardous to health but in combination become even more lethal.” (heart palpitations, heart attacks, liver damage, stroke in people under age 40)

“People taking cocaine and alcohol in combination are also found responsible for increased sexual crime and immorality, as well as turn violent while they indulge in such sexual activities. The combination also has some adverse psychological effects as it may make a person feel angry, irritated, etc. and that is why a high rate of violence is recorded.”

For all we know, Raf and Amanda took Ecstasy or “Molly” (MDMA) or other drugs in some combination. Alcohol alone can ignite fights and instability in many people. The quiet, moderate, modest Meredith never stood a chance.

Raf, do yourself a favor and begin a treatment program or attend AA while you’re in the States. The police know your type all too well.

Is it possible that Sollecito’s TGCom rant and now this Dempsey interview, which is itself a rant, could be a deliberate ploy to undermine some of the accusations that will be levelled again him from his book?

By publishing articles where he’s seen to speak ‘without thinking’, couldn’t the book then be seen as just another example of this, and so not taken seriously?

Exactly ... this is the same impression I had when I read Raf’s “rant.”

What arrogance to mock the Italian Judicial System while the upcoming re-trial of the appeal is still pending !

So ... is Papa Sollecito fed up with Raf and he “cut him off” ?  He sounds “desperate”—and not only for money but for attention.

If I were Raf’s lawyer, I would drop him like a “hot potato” !

Have a nice day everyone !

And I truly believe there will be True Justice for Meredith Kercher !!!

@MissMarple

“What arrogance to mock the Italian Judicial System while the upcoming re-trial of the appeal is still pending !”

How true. I’ve seen plenty of spoilt brats but he’s in a league of his own. It takes a special kind of spoiling (hello father) and resultant ignorance to think one is above the kind of justice ordinary mortals live by and it can therefore be mocked with impunity. It’s particularly staggering when it’s abundantly clear to everyone else that one’s dénouement is on the horizon. Call it arrogant stupidity.

I deduce from this that he’s done or at least half baked. Hey Knox supporters I really hope this makes you squirm because this is Knox’s alibi. best of luck.
