On Amanda Knox. Innocence Project Idaho rep Hampikian’s ONLY achievement was to be main cause of annulment of 2011 appeal, to anger of defense counsel. Thus he subjected Knox and RS to much tougher appeal, leading to desperate measures to bend Supreme Court. Thus Hampikian directly caused mafia involvement that Knox and RS must hide for life.

So fascinating, and evocative.
(I was a young undergraduate there when Watson & Crick described the Double Helix.
A Biochemistry Lecture was interrupted one morning to announce their discovery.
We already knew that Keratin had a Triple Helix and didn’t then-realise the profundity of DNA having a Double Helix.)
Hampikian is such a fraud.

A splendid post, bringing many strands together for a slam dunk guilty finding.
Only point which seems incongruous to me (and it may be that I’m misreading it) is the 14th slide of Nicki’s presentation, No. 2 above, where the second question “Has the defendants’ DNA been found compatible with the traces found on the victim body/crime scene?” has been answered “No” when it seems to me it should be “Yes”.
The immediately preceding question on that slide asks the same question but from the non compatible viewpoint and it was answered “No”.
I am reading this in bed in Sunday morning after a long Saturday night out in fairness so the old synapses may not be firing on all cylinders!

Fraud is right. One aspect of Hampikian we have not highlighted, at least yet, is how much angry contempt for Italy and Italians he stirred up to keep the scam going all these years.
Same with Knox, very obvious to us, but after seven years the Innocence Project is still blind to it. Still profiting from it. As with Netflix, and now VICE.

I dont know if you have seen yet? DNA is in space news, in a rather startling way. You will know that the DNA molecule has a sugar-phosphate backbone, vital to all life on Earth.
Like most elements on Earth (and thus in us) phosphorous was thought to have been created as regular ol’ supernovae explode, the death throes of large stars.

Pete, some things one never thought-of are very, very obvious when pointed-out. Your Phosphorus-fact is one of them.
As your sources indicate, Life-as-we-know-it depends on 6 chemical-elements, of which Phosphorus is so rare in the Universe that, as you wrote, Life is so unlikely to happen, that we are something of a fluke.

Not at all. On Saturday, May 09, 2009 at perhaps the most dramatic day at trial BOTH perps were tied to the scene by FOOTPRINTS in a way very hard to disprove.
The two prosecution experts came across like pitbulls and overwhelmingly won the day.
The defenses, and especially RS and AK, were in very obvious disarray as the damning measurements kept flowing.
