I’m told in an email that Fisher’s post was even more rabid and over the top when first posted, and that this is (amazingly) a toned down version.

Apparently his language even disgusted other conspiracy theorist, who feel that posting such unfounded personal accusations is a sure way to marginalize all of them.

Good to hear that some of them still maintain their decency. Good on them.

Bruce Fisher is trying to lay groundwork for a lawsuit against “hate campaign toward Amanda Knox”, along with dropped hints of same by Chris Mellas in anonymous posts on websites. Let’s see who the real hater is, what Bruce Fisher hates.

Bruce Fisher hates the Italian justice system that has found his little darling Amanda anything but adorable. Bruce Fisher hates the truth and accuses PMF of taking Amanda and Raffaele’s words and forming them into lies, when it is precisely the opposite. Bruce Fisher and Friends of Amanda are lying about Amanda Knox and covering up anything that isn’t laudatory about her. Bruce Fisher hates good people who stand up to defend the need to have an innocent young woman’s killers brought to justice. John Walsh he isn’t.

Bruce Fisher prefers the tale of two liars to the rulings of eminent judges. Bruce Fisher hates anyone who sees through the lies of the Marriott PR campaign which was hired to reshape Amanda’s public image to lend her credibility to influence the verdict. She was unable even with their help to wiggle out of her guilty verdict. Bruce Fisher is jealous of and hates the great thinkers on PMF and TJMK who have spotted a phony and a weasel and have chosen to condemn evildoers instead of scoffing at police and lawabiding juries.

Bruce Fisher hates anyone who does not think that Amanda Knox is an object of universal admiration. Bruce Fisher is grieved that his love object is ridiculed and denounced as a murderer after she has been ruled precisely that by judges and jurors, and after she put up an expensive legal defense and her trial was declared valid and fair by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and for that matter by Amanda herself.

Bruce Fisher hates the fact that his young girl of college age is spending years in prison to sort out this sordid affair because of her own lies and frivolous behavior coupled with DNA evidence of her presence at a murder scene, even after an obvious cleanup.

Bruce Fisher hates the many posters who see Meredith Kercher, the murdered victim, as a virtuous and deserving woman of great value and ability. Her heart of goodness and wellbalanced life contrast sharply with the actions of the roommate who killed her. Bruce Fisher defies everyone who wants justice for this young lady, because he feels it comes at the expense of a beautiful young lady who he happens to like. Bruce Fisher objects to anyone seeing the victim as worthy of having her killers locked away.

Bruce Fisher hates the websites who have supported the cause of the defenseless murdered woman. Bruce Fisher hates losing the argument that Amanda is truly a killer, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and he resents being tricked by her and having created a blogsite where others can be tricked by her.

Bruce Fisher hates justice for Meredith Kercher if it leads to the natural conclusion that she was murdered by her own roommate who is the apple of his eye. Bruce Fisher thinks Meredith’s murderers having been proved guilty of the crime in an Italian court of law should simply be patted on the head, swiftly forgiven, and loved for their youth and appearance.

Bruce Fisher can see no wrong in any of this because he is blinded by prejudice toward the killers. Bruce Fisher hates Kermit’s powerpoints and The Machine’s careful analysis of the crime and people intimately involved with the case who see the reasons why Italian law enforcement became alerted to Amanda’s and Raffaele’s involvement in the crime of murder.

Bruce Fisher hates the prosecutor, Giuliano Mignini, because he saw the clear indicators of guilt and was not swayed by youth or nationality. Bruce Fisher pretends he is a reasonable man and yet it irks him beyond measure that Amanda Knox is treated with much deserved contempt and disgust as a lying murderer.

Bruce Fisher hates the impact that TJMK and PMF have had on public opinion about Amanda Knox. Bruce Fisher hates the fact that he cannot unring the bell that Knox and her boyfriend rang on the night of November 1, 2007 of their own choice.

Bruce Fisher loves Amanda Knox and FOA and all who support his cause. He hates those who don’t. Big shock.

Tell it to the judge.

Hi Hopeful. Yes the real hate is all on their side. TJMK came into existence when they were trying to disappear Meredith from the discourse and never ever mention her name.

If Fisher thinks there is a lawsuit in this he is more out to lunch than I thought. We are surrounded by lawyers here and nothing is posted lightly on this site.

He perhaps should devote a lot more time to watching the crime shows on CNN and MSNBC here, where the hosts really take a strident pro-victim and anti-perp stance, the popular one in the US.

In comparison what we post about Amanda is at about the level of mild exasperation and in many places we show her compassion. And unlike Bruce Fisher, who seems to me not very smart, we dont make up facts or doctor images or misleadingly summarise official documents. Or serially slime justice officials who have no easy way to answer back.

Chris Mellas seemed to be calling for some constraint among the conspiracists - why is the US based lawyer Ted Simon not doing the same?

I always thought that it was Steve Moore who operated the Injustice In Perugia website. Thanks for clearing that up for us.

I also had no idea that the readership for said sight was that low. It’s reassuring that the truth is coming out and the conspiracy theorists are dying out. Good job on the site too

I think Bruce Fisher, like Steve Moore, are two bored men looking for a cause and they found one in this case. Luckily, as this article points out, not many people are buying into their story.

Once again, like the Knox and Mellas clans and Friends of Amanda Knox have done before, Bruce Fisher is shooting the messenger because he doesn’t like the message - Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were fairly convicted at their first trial, are now appealing and will likey lose their appeal trial.

If Bruce Fisher strongly believes that Knox and Sollecito are innocent of murdering Meredith Kercher, why doesn’t he book a flight to Italy so he can arrive in time for next week’s trial in Perugia?

But then, how many West Seattle Amanda Knox benefit bowling fundraisers will it take to pay for his ticket?

Steve Moore was invited in by Bruce Fisher and seems to have started firing away having only read, well, Bruce Fisher. The language sounds remarkably similar.

We have repeatedly taken Steve Moore’s wooly claims apart as he was the one appearing on TV. He appeared briefly on TV a few days ago saying something fatuous, like the prosecutors had zoomed in rather quickly. That was it.

Otherwise he hasnt been heard from in months. He too has not been to Italy and still owes ther world a resume and a list of what evidence he examined - from 10,000 miles away.

Fisher was never entirely stable, judging by his posts, but now he is cracking up entirely. How dare he pontificate about “the anonymity of the internet” when he hasn’t even provided the most basic information about himself, his connection to Steve Moore, etc?

Ji Janus. Yes he timidly gives out nothing about himself, and he seems to go to great pains to conceal any vital facts and images.

We know that he was a TV cameraman, presumably laid off when his job was taken over by a robot. We dont have details of what his resume looks like although it seems to be pretty thin. All our lawyers and law-enforcement sources regard him with contempt as he seems to have little clue about the law or investigation.

Despite hiding himself so timidly, he posted the name of my own hometown. Why that had to be posted I dont know, but my own Facebook is fully open to all, and there are plenty of photos of where I live here:

More on the tanking of the conspiracy theory websites - readers apparently driven away by the sheer nastiness in droves.

The post already says that all the readers at Bruce Fisher’s website will soon fit comfortably in a Volkswagen.

Also all of the following conspiracy theory sites are seeing a mass migration out.

With the exception of Dempsey, the hapless state of all of these sites can be checked out at Alexa. Frank Szfarzo is down at 4.5 million.

Dempsey’s threadbare readership is regularly reported to us by gleeful Seattle PI insiders who dont like her being part of their operation.

She must know this and at times wonder why bother to continue….  Oh yes. Of course. An amazing book to peddle.

Good grief, this person seriously has an axe to grind doesn’t he?

He certainly has issues with himself and I wonder if he struggles to sleep at night.

He may have found his latest rant cathartic so I am pleased he’s got it off his chest and maybe he will fade away back to anonymity now.

I will not fully go into the actual content of his rant as it is there for all to see but on the whole I see it as nothing but hate speech.

Hate speech is against the law in England - whether spoken or in the written word.

Perhaps he can explain why he thinks it is hateful for a journalist with great integrity like Andrea Vogt to simply and accurately report back on the decision of the Italian Supreme Court?

With regard to his comments concerning the Knox children I would suggest he goes back to source and ask them WHY minors of this age are being shamelessly paraded in front of the worlds media?

And while he is at it to also ask WHY many photos of Amanda Knox as a small child still appear to this day on the Amanda defence fund site - I forget its name now.

Next time you are struggling to get to sleep Bruce, ask yourself if your rant will help or hurt Amanda?

Frank Szfarzo’s site is often.. ..unreadable. I mean, I don’t want to get snobbish. His English is about a trillion times better than my Italian. But some of the posts have a tone and style that makes..no sense, even aside from language differences.

The defamation has been confirmed as legally actionable. If the Technorati post is not removed we might end up owning his house. Hopeful above did a brilliant listing of the hate speech all flowing from Bruce Fisher. We want it to be exposed so that it goes away.

They were being emboldened by our non-response. A Lord of the Flies approach has now been adopted by Fisher and several other hotheads with financial interests in Meredith’s fate. They seek to hurt and silence some really good media reporters and some smart and caring posters on PMF interested in seeing the process of justice for Meredith play out fairly. Almost of those that were being attacked are women and Fischer seems almost psychotic in that direction.

That is on top of a long campaign of sliming all the Italian justice system professionals, which has now moved into a phase of accusing them online of a whole series of crimes - what Edda Mellas and Curt Knox are already being sued for.  As some posters are suggesting, that campaign is at least borderline illegal, and once our point sinks in and they pull back, we move on.

We already see signs that the hate speech proponents on their side are being cooled by the cooler heads among them. Possibly Ted Simon and even David Marriott may have stepped in. There seems a concern they might be contributing to an impatience in the Italian public and the judicial hard line. Chris Mellas already said as much, and now we do the same.

I think that at the two extremes there is a lot of hatred, but that the vast majority of those who have taken a position are just ordinary folks. It is too bad that Bruce Fisher seeks to inflame the extremists with what amounts to hate speech. I hope he realizes that the consequences can be deadly.

Not only that, but Bruce Fisher seriously discredits himself and his advocacy team with posts like these. In a way, it is a good thing that he has had his chance to reach a wider audience, so that more people know he has serious anger issues against women and an agenda.

My guess is that he needs to discredit others to deflect attention away from his own lack of serious credentials or expertise.

As someone pointed out, he does not seem to have any credentials and instead has recruited a few other down-on-their-luck types to serve as experts. But these experts seem not to have relevant expertise once you scratch the surface.

In spite of repeated requests, I have not been able to obtain a straight story about Steve Moore’s actual experience with homicide investigations. The FBI is a huge organization, with lots of bureaucrats who don’t see a lot of action. In addition, murder is not its number one priority by a long shot.

As for Jim Lovering, who disappointingly has joined the mindless and false drumbeating against Andrea Vogt, he does not seem to have any credentials to speak of either. I believe most people who take the time to read his latest rant will realize that it says more about his own issues than anything else.

And it suggests that the few good journalists covering this case—like Andrea Vogt—are being taken seriously. This seems to have rattled the team whose only journalists are going the advocacy route, which limits their utility.

Bruce Fisher’s hysterical, hate-filled rant has now been removed the Technorati website. I fear this public humiliation will make him even more agitated than he already is. It’s not a pretty sight watching someone losing the plot in public. It’s a good thing his blog isn’t read by many people.

The people at Technorati should be commended for their swift action. 

It has not escaped their attention now that the original blog entry by “Bruce Fisher” used the term “smut journalist” and that his opinion piece is in fact a hate-filled rant that could have real-life consequences.

They are also fully aware that “Bruce Fisher” has a self-published book to his credit and claims not to be the Bruce Fisher from Seattle. In fact, “Bruce Fisher” could well be a pseudonym.

So perhaps we have a pseudo now writing published attacks on real people based in part on the contents of a reader blog on the Seattle PI website.

Reader blogs are not fact-checked and the Seattle PI takes no responsibility for their content.

Hence, they are not a reliable source of information, especially if used to attack the work of a reporter whose work appears in the PI and is subject to legal review and fact-checking!

To take his article off Technorati was the right decision.

Even though the strategy of Amanda’s family has always been to “distance” themselves from her supporters by claiming they didn’t know them and have never met them, there is no doubt in my mind that they are not only satisfied and in agreement with their supporters actions, they probably “hired” them to speak out for their daughter to some extent. If that weren’t the case, they would have already taken actions against the shrillest of them. It makes one wonder ...

I am well-inclined to believe that Bruce Fisher may not be a real person. Never been on TV, never posted his picture, never divulged the slightest information about himself.

Peter has done all these things, and more. That alone makes Peter the better man.

It is still possible to access the article if you add the page number at the end of the link to the article. I hope this is only temporary. Only the first page of the article is not accessible. People are still able to post comments. How very disappointing.

Bruce Fisher seems to have been banned from Technorati, a click on his username leads to the warning “Page Not Found”.

The rabid comments go on, accusing people with common sense of “censorship”. They simply don’t get the difference between free speech and insults.

I was told by the people at Technorati I spoke with that it would take 24 hours to get rid of the whole thing and its various outgrowths. Hopefully, this will include the comments, which, as I pointed out to them, repeat the libel.

As for the Knox and Mellas families distancing themselves from these tactics, I am not so sure this is the case for all of them. Jim Lovering, aka Charlie Wilkes, curates the FOA website and has become friends with Chris Mellas as a result.

Incidentally, this is not surprising or even shocking. I mention it only because Jim Lovering was one of the main commenters repeating one of the libelous statements, i.e., that Andrea Vogt is associated with PMF. He did so repeatedly yesterday.

One of the other commenters was Janet Huff, who is Edda Mellas’s sister-in-law. Her comments were pretty innocuous, though mean-spirited. David Johnsrud also made numerous comments, all of them petty personal attacks against me.

I believe Chris Mellas was also online at one point, though I don’t know for sure. Something about the tone…

So it looks like some family members on the Huff/Mellas side are involved with “Bruce Fisher”. I have seen no indication that Curt Knox has ever had anything to do with any of this. He has said otherwise and I believe him.

I too think that “Bruce Fisher” may not be a real person. The person posting as “Bruce Fisher” angrily claimed (his default tone) that he was not THE Bruce Fisher from Seattle, as some people thought.

Perhaps he got an angry letter from that Bruce Fisher—I mean, who would want to be mistaken for the person who wrote the “smut journalist” piece and so much more?

“Bruce Fisher” the author sidesteps the identity issue by not listing any credentials and stating he has recruited experts to help him.

I was glad to learn Technorati have taken this hate piece down and kudos to them for that.

I would guess “Bruce Fisher” will be smarting now, perhaps even to the point of needing a straight jacket.

Having read some of his comments and babblings in the past I can quite easily see him raging over some grand conspiracy involving technorati and god knows who else now.

Considering that many of the motley crew we have come to know since the tragedy of Merediths death commented favourably on this piece - and indeed family members and close friends of the convicted and jailed killer Amanda Knox, it has served as an insight into the kind of people they are.
Unsavoury to say the least.

It really did leave a bad taste in my mouth but I am heartened by the damage they have done to their crooked cause by exposing themselves in this way.
They really have run off the rails now -  if they were ever on the rails that is.

were not attracting enough viewers to satisfy his wishes, so he began posting them on other websites, such as Technorati.

Although Technorati has deleted them, they are available on Fisher’s website.

In my books these are defamatory statements and not the expression of an opinion.

Hi Nell. Signs are these books are selling bad. One of our lawyers has the Kindle book and was laughing, he finds it so childish.

He sent along a possible post showing how Fisher goes to extreme lengths to cherrypick and misinterpret. This cherry picking leaves out 85 percent of the evidence such as the many lies and misinterprets the rest.

It is heavily based on the childish notion that Mignini duped all of Italy. Fisher cant read Italian except via Google Translate and his site has been littered with ridiculous translation errors.

And none of these guys has seen the 10,000 plus pages Michelli and Massei constantly refer to. Four courts have ruled out this being a crime by one person with excellent reason. The conspiracy theorists dont come within lightyears of showing how Guede alone could have done it.

“Bruce Fisher” has taken the libelous article that was removed from Technorati and posted it again, this time at gather.com

He has made slight alterations, taking “hate campaign” out of the title and embedding it in the article, but otherwise the content is the same libelous stuff.

I have joined gather and submitted a complaint.

More and more people are telling me they think Chris Mellas is in the driver’s seat, directing Bruce’s hate campaign. In addition to targeting the Seattle PI’s reporter on the case, “Bruce Fisher” also targets and defames one of PMF’s moderators (me) and the operator of TJMK (Peter Quennell).

I don’t know if “Bruce Fisher” simply doesn’t understand the difference between fact and opinion or if he just thinks that in the service of a cause it is okay to distort the facts, make things up entirely, give partial information to provide a misleading picture, etc. Maybe a little of both?

When any sort of campaign starts to resort to vicious, quasi-anonymous personal attacks like this,  it’s a sign it’s pretty much finished.

It also sheds rather a lot of light onto the personalities involved in the pro-Knox campaign, how invested they are personally (i.e. from an ego point of view) in their work and perhaps this also says something about their motives.

This is a meltdown…. not a tactic.

Yes, Lilly, I absolutely agree. I am observing since some time now that the few who post in support of Amanda Knox often have “insider knowledge” that only someone closely connected to the Knox/Mellas family would know. That again shows that there is no “international outrage”. The Knox/Mellas family is upset, because they didn’t get their way and they are doing what they know best, foul mouthing those who they think are responsible for their own misery. They seem to live in a parallel world.

Bruce Fisher’s article has been deleted from gather.com, but he was keen enough to post a new one titled “Lack of common sense apparent in Amanda Knox conviction” and he also published a new article on his blog, “The truth behind the online hate campaign against Amanda Knox”. It ain’t pretty.

Hi Nell. Yes it aint pretty. It aint very convincing either. We’ve lost count of the times people have arrived at this site only to be puzzled at the claims they had heard that it has any hate speech. Amanda at most is talked about here with mild exasperation in comments, and we have had various posts exploring her mental condition with some sympathy. 

Remember we have posted on the psychologists take that all the White Knights slobbering over Amanda Knox demonstrate a form of perversion. “Bruce Fisher” is one of the most ardent slobberers. At the same time his own site is riddled with hate talk about Mignini and many many others in Italy.

Bruce Fisher” is absolutely floundering on the evidence, events in Perugia and Rome have left him utterly inconsequential, and his last desperate act is sending more and more readers to our site.

Seems okay to me….

The readership for the Fisher conspiracy site Injustice in Perugia is still plummeting. It is now down to 5,442,994.

You are so right. Unfortunately, Bruce Fisher isn’t getting it.

He published an article on March 11th with the following headline and text

“Injustice in Perugia Continues to Provide the Most Comprehensive Coverage of the Amanda Knox Case

[...] Find out why over 15,000 unique visitors look to Injustice in Perugia for information every month. According to Compete.com, Injustice in Perugia is the most read website of all independent websites detailing this case and the site continues to trend up.”

I visited the website compete.com, which is a tool to analyse website traffic, and according to compete.com, Bruce Fisher’s website has only approximately 2,000 unique visitors. That is a far cry from the claimed 15,000. Furthermore comparing truejustice.org to injusticeinperugia.org shows that the numbers of his visitors are steadily decreasing while truejustice.org is continually growing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if “Bruce Fisher” had a little help from Chris Mellas to even get his 2,000 “unique visitors”.

Thanks very much Nell. Compete.com is a weird ranking site and I dont know anyone in Manhattan who takes it seriously. In fact I barely know anyone who even looks at it. Alexa is the heavyweight and cannot be fooled.

Even if we do for a moment take it seriously 2,000 unique visitors in a month is pretty abysmal and as you suggest, many of those could be bots organized by the peripatetic Chris Mellas.

We have done our own first analysis of the various conspiracy theory websites and every one appears to point to Chris Mellas having a role.

Bruce Fisher is clearly originating libels. Say we start a suit against Chris Mellas? Who knows what in the search and discovery phase might come tumbling out…

Whatever traffic he generates, for me it is clear that the contents of his website isn’t appealing to most readers. It is as simple as that. Just read the articles, they are full of accusations, he always assures he can back it up with proof, but he fails to do so. He is not credible at all. His pseudo-experts have taken a fall, one by one and in my opinion his site must be somehow related to the family of Amanda Knox. Many comments written by Amanda Knox supporters these days show emotional involvement and insider knowledge that only a family member or someone close the Knox/Mellas family could have. They are easy to spot.

You can bet that “Bruce” reads every single post here, so this “look at my stats!” post is just a knee jerk reaction to something he read here.  Also, what is he waffling about? What are “all independent websites detailing this case”? Websites that are not run by the family? Ones that are not created by a paid-for PR effort? What would a “dependent” website be?

As soon as people start to become over-emotional, make vicious accusations, ad-hominem attacks,  rather than calmly stating their case, backing it up with evidence, assessing counter arguments, etc - then it’s as clear as day that they’ve run out of things to say and that their arguments were little more than either conspiracy theories or the emotional reactions of family members.

People looking for information, whatever they believe about this case, don’t like rants and personal attacks, because they are boring to those outside the loop, make the writer look unreliable, and don’t give any information.

I agree with every word you say. Does anyone notice how the wording of his articles is often leaned on articles formerly published by True Justice Meredith Kercher? The Amanda Knox supporters are natural born copy & pasters.

I find it also intriguing how Raffaele Sollecito is barely mentioned by them. There is no bowling fundraiser for Raffaele Sollecito, why not? Isn’t he supposed to be innocent as well? It looks like charity and Christian love doesn’t go that far for Amanda Knox supporters.

The latest vicious attacks in comment sections stoop to new lows accusing the Kercher’s of wanting to financially profit from their daughter’s murder and harassing the Knox/Mellas family. Can it get any worse? Well, every time I thought that, Edda and Curt came up with a new mantra ...

Very small numbers are reading that sad site though. This looks like the disempowering of the fanatics. It gets worse - but it also gets smaller. The TJMK community is many, many times the size.

The anonymous conspiracy theorists seem to have run out of anything nice to say about Amanda and anything sensible to say about the evidence and have now disastrously turned to “research” on us instead. It was “Bruce Fisher” who anonymously floated the many fictions mentioned in the post above. He is nothing if not the Compleat Coward.

Now on Frank Szfarzo’s Perugia Shock site and Fisher’s site an anonymous commenter who we are told is either “Bruce Fisher” or “Withnail 1969” is trying to claim a link between some of us and a British rocker called Gary Glitter who served some time in Thailand for soliciting underage sex. (Yeah we too had never heard of him.)

This is FIRST HAND info. from a Scotland Yard detective here in the UK - that’s as much as I can probably post on here. As I stated earlier, I have been going on about the vile connection for over a year now, since I found out. Rest assured, I will find some way to get the truth about Quennell, Ganong and Glitter out into the public domain… sooner rather than later. SICK people.

Wow. This obsessional dude with the claimed Scotland Yard connection is even (to their credit) being questioned skeptically by Charles Wilkes and blocked or deleted by Frank Szfarzo himself.

The phony and not-very-bright “Bruce Fisher” is the only one obsessing about the ballet sites. They are Exciting Arrivals and Exciting Performances and are both work-related.

Our main poster TomM (a lawyer) became curious and researched the links between “Quennell” and “Gary Glitter” to see what he could turn up.

I have examined the “strong links” between Gary Glitter and Peter Quennell. 

For this to be true Gary Glitter needs to have the ability to communicate with the dead, as the Peter Quennell that turned up in nine hits on Google is “Peter Quennell (March 9, 1905, Bickley, Kent (now in Greater London), England - October 27, 1993, London) was an English biographer, literary historian, editor, essayist, poet, and critic. Peter Courtney Quennell was the son of social historians Marjorie and C. H. B. Quennell. Educated at Berkhams.”

This quotation is from the “P” section of an online encyclopedia; the reason Gary Glitter’s name appears is that apparently the name of one of the members of his band begins with “P”.

Most of the entries are from a website that has information about authors, including song writers.  One is a newspaper website that has three articles about Gllitter and his difficulties, and in a separate article about Lord Glenconnor and the island of Mustique, the author writes “Peter Quennell recalled that Lady Glenconner would greet visitors arranged in an 18th-century tableaux ...”

Then there is a forum on which 74 posters respond to the question “what famous people live in your area?” One poster lists Gary Glitter as residing in the same town. Yet another poster mentions Peter Quinnell b. 1905 d. 1993.

And an Information Britain website has an A-Z of important dates in British history which has links to that date of Gary Glitter’s incarceration, and the birth and death of Peter Quennell.

These folks should definitely not give up their day jobs in order to go into cyber sleuthing.

Day jobs?! That sure made us all laugh.

I don’t know what’s more laughable - the Gary Glitter element or the way they mixed you up with a deceased British literary historian.

“Bruce” sounds unhinged, frankly. Obsessing like this is not healthy.
