Steve Moore Really, Really Believes Amanda Knox’s Alibi #5! Or Was That Alibi #7?

Added later: Video report from KGW8 Portland Oregon has been removed, as with others featuring Steve Moore; however below see key quote.

1. The KWGA Report

What Steve More is wildly building from is Amanda Knox’s highly self-serving claims made on the witness stand last June (not under oath so she was free to lie) which both she and her lawyers had previously often contradicted and even she wound back on the stand.

“Listen to what she’s saying. ‘I was very scared. I plugged my ears. I do not remember anything. I was upset, but I imagined.’ If you take all those prefaces to her sentences, what she’s saying is ‘none of this is really true to me,’” said Moore.

Moore says Knox was interrogated over 10 hours, using tactics just short of waterboarding and was bullied into telling police what they wanted to hear.

“Two new detectives would come in every hour. Three in the morning, four in the morning, five in the morning. And what they were trying to do is not get information. They were trying to break her,” said Moore.

Amanda Knox took the stand for two days in June to try to explain why she fingered Patrick Lumumba for Meredith’s murder. She was not under oath, so she could say what she wanted, and by prior agreement broad areas were kept off-limits to prosecution cross-examination.

Other than the puppylike Steve Moore, who amazingly seems to have never encountered a perp who lied on the stand, Amanda Knox appears to have failed to convince just about everyone. See our posts at the time by Fiori here and by Nicki here.

If Steve Moore still foolishly refuses to read (or even acknowledge) the very precise, very damning Massei Report, perhaps he could at minimum read Amanda Knox’s various alibis and also Raffaele Sollecito’s various alibis both nicely summarized by the Machine.

They provide the context to the claims Amanda Knox made on the stand.

These and passages in the Massei Report (summaries and analyses of which we are about to start posting) make it obvious what led to what Steve Moore calls Amanda Knox’s “confession” in which she actually fingered Patrick Lumumba and actually claimed to be an accidental bystander (that is a confession?!).

At the first, relatively brief, session with and investigator on the night (she was then not even a witness, and no lawyers or prosecutors needed to be present) Amanda Knox was ONLY helping to build a list of suspects.

In his own interrogation Raffaele Sollecito had been confronted with evidence of mobile-phone traffic that showed that he had been lying. He then switched to his own alibi number two, which meant that for a period of time Amanda Knox had no alibi or explanation whatever. (Mignini has said he thinks she came very close to confessing.)

When she was then shown the numbers she had recently dialed on her own mobile phone, they included Patrick Lumumba’s number there.

And in the blink of an eye, Amanda Knox made him the chief suspect, kept repeating this for hours, and didn’t retract this, except to her mom, for the entire time Patrick was kept in custody.

No wonder Knox needed to make things up in her testimony on the stand in June.

Neither of Knox’s lawyers have ever supported those claims of breaking down under fierce interrogation, or of rough treatment. She had lawyers present at her only real interrogation - one she herself had asked for - by Dr Mignini on 17 December 2007.

No official complaint of pressure was ever lodged. And at the trial a number of police witnesses confirmed that Knox was actually very well treated.

And for making claims about the interrogators very similar to Steve Moore’s, both Amanda Knox AND her two parents Curt Knox and Edda Mellas were charged, and these trials will be coming up soon.

Guede’s lawyer said Steve Moore could be charged with slander if he visits Italy, the Perugia police and prosecutors have not yet said they will arrest him, and who knows? They may even be tickled to meet him.

2. The KVAL Report

In this KVAL interview Steve Moore seems totally unaware that all the DNA analysis WAS DONE IN ROME! It was collected and analyzed by THE ITALIAN COUNTERPART OF THE FBI who are rated among Europe’s best.

Good grief. He doesn’t even seem to know who he is accusing.

In this video, he kinda reminds us of an actor in one of those comedy movies who just knows that the great scam is falling through. He says he had some good laughs with Amanda’s family.

No doubt at the expense of the victim, Meredith Kercher, whose name he pretty well always forgets.

“...a spot of Amanda’s blood mixed with Meredith’s blood on the tap, on the edge of the sink and again on the…cotton-swab box AND THE DRAIN OF THE BIDET. The most damning spot was in Filomena Romanelli’s room…There, investigators again found a spot of Meredith’s blood mixed with Amanda’s DNA. As Stefanoni noted, the spots on the sink and in Filomena’s room were found only after the application of Luminol, which can reveal stains that have been wiped clean.” Barbie Nadeau, pp 130-131, “Angel Face”.

So the blood had been wiped clean—by whom? Tell us, Mr. Moore.

Amanda’s fingerprints were not found in her own bedroom. Does that mean she never entered her bedroom?

Your interpretation must be right, because Steve Moore’s very own truism says that “The absence of evidence is evidence of absence.”

Someone should tell Steve Moore that there were other people also convicted of this sad murder and that he should be giving some time to their plight as well. Perhaps he doesn’t quite understand that Mandy’s liberty is intertwined with at least one other person, i.e. Raff “Who put me in this story” Sollecito!

The UPI press service (which has done no original reporting on the case and rarely send releases to its clients) has now circulated the second KOMO story above (the daffy claims about the DNA) to its media client base.

While AP and Reuters stories can appear on 300 plus websites, this one is for now only appearing on nine. Hardly viral. Doesn’t anyone have any respect for Steve Moore?

We number the points Steve Moore had got wrong just so far at well over 100 so this is going to be quite a series. Michael posted about 50 on PMF some weeks ago and Machine and others keep turning up more.

A serial blunderer, no less. If this wasn’t so very very painful for Meredith’s family and friends and the many professionals in Italy who cannot speak out, it would be considered farce.

I’m just headed back by car from New Orleans where I’ve been working to New York via Washington, where I know a number of insiders. They may tell us more about the instant expert.

I would ask this “instant expert” where he has obtained his information.

Who and what are his sources?

Is he being paid for his TV appearances and if so by whom?

Is he being paid for being a spokesperson? By whom?

I think any media organization should question him as to his sources and motivations, plus his experience and background to verify it.

No “expert” would risk his/her credibility by making such obviously contestable statements.

Peter, I hope you can turn up some more info on him… I’m guessing he’s a paid puppet.

I’ve seen - maybe a week ago - that they were talking about this on the Geraldo Rivera show (that I never watch, but I was zapping….). Those idiots were showing pictures of the bathroom (vanity) and saying: “How can they say there has been a clean up? Look at all this blood! No clean up at all”. Of course it was the colorant showing where there had been blood.

I hope I understood correctly, as I am foreigner and was caught by surprise! Has someone else seen this stupid show?

They had a guy who, supposedly, was there just to show they are being objective and listen to all sides of the story but he did not sound very effective when emphasizing that Amanda had changed her version many times etc… At least that how I felt…

Seems like some people never learn. Even today there has been a post about how Italy conducted a “witch hunt” against poor Knox and articles about her what the girl is doing in prison and how she acts like a model prisoner.

Ah! Our dear Lilly is always spot on! She is so right! It is obvious this guy has no clue about what’s going on in this case. Indeed, he is just yet another Knoxes/FOA/PR/ firm paid puppet. They couldn’t get Hillary involved now they go for ex FBI agents!

The Knox clan will go through anything to get her out of jail and this is just one of their many cheap tricks. Aren’t they tired by now?

I think we are wasting our time feeling concerned and bothered about all these journalists, lawyers, ex FBI agents etc…who refuse to see and admit the facts for the sake of money.

What the court will decide is what’s important in the end and I don’t think that judges and prosecutors will even bother with this loser’s opinion.

I tend to be fairly intuitive about people and I have to say that this video rang up as pure BS to me, like he practiced in a mirror for hours on end for this acting job.  It will be interesting to see what comes forth from those researching his credentials.  Does anyone know whether he retired from the FBI voluntarily or unvoluntarily?

He mentioned his wife, and I think I read somewhere that she was originally from the Seattle area, so I’m thinking that she had a lot to do with him coming out of the woodwork, like maybe she has a connection to the Knox/Mellas clan in some way or maybe with some of the other puppets —- Heavey, Bremner or Dempsey.

I think Moore is enjoying the limelight and maybe that’s all he’s getting out of this, but I think that behind the scenes there is more being unsaid than said about the strings operating this puppet.

Moore’s current and ongoing media assault has the Marriot PR firm written all over it.

He says “I’m here on my own dime” yet that is easy to do and does not mean he can’t claim that back on his expenses when he eventually gets paid by Marriot for his services.

Hiding such a payment would in my opinion be easy for an FBI man, considering the secret nature of his profession.

Tell tale signs of long and over used FOA/Knox/Mellas mantras abound in his utterings - “keystone cops” being an old favourite.

Further to add to my above comment, how does a person all of a sudden come out of nowhere to appear on numerous TV stations and newspapers?

Does he call them?
Email them?
Or just cold call at reception and speak to the receptionist and say he wants to appear on TV?

No, I don’t think so peeps.
He must have a fixer acting on his behalf - a very strong candidate being Marriot.

@ Black Dog - you hit the nail right on the head.

It’s highly unlikely that someone with no media contacts gets a slot on TV.

It’s most likely that a PR person with contacts pitched the story to a few stations and this one bit and gave them a slot.

Once it’s on TV it’s easier for the PR agency to approach the papers and ask their contacts if they want them to arrange an interview with our Puppet.

The Puppet would be coached before he does any interviews to make sure he’s “on message” and says the right things and knows what to answer, in some cases he might get the list of questions beforehand to prepare.

That’s how it works…

Since he’s not accustomed to being interviewed, he flubs it a bit.

“I’m here on my own dime” is not likely either.

The most likely scenario is that The Puppet was recruited since the PR campaign is constantly looking for new ways to get airtime - the “Amanda’s Mom and Dad” interview is old so without a “hook” like a book publication, a court appearance, etc, it’s very hard to get media attention for what is now an old story.

Recruited how? It’s possible that after doing some searches of “who knows who, who can we get on board for a new angle”, they reached Puppet via some contact (maybe his wife), or he met with someone related to the Knox campaign and they persuaded him to get involved.

Why? Flattery works wonders with some, maybe he wanted to because he is retired, bored at home and missing the action, but even if that’s the case it’s likely there is some sort of kickback.

Money, influence, promises of being part of a future book deal with royalties for him contributing, being part of a movie.

There’s lots of ways to pay someone….

As Steve Moore thinks that the evidence was manipulated to make Amanda look guilty, has he said what reasoning he thinks there would be?  Why would he think that the Italian judiciary would want to make Amanda or Raffaele look guilty?  As Raffaele is Italian, it can’t be due to anti-Americanism, so what other reason can he attribute his suspicions to?  I haven’t seen his answer to that anywhere and if the question hasn’t been publicly asked of him, it certainly should be.  Just who would benefit by framing two young students?

Perhaps Steve Moore should keep out of the United States as well as out of Italy?!  I was in Washington DC yesterday and so far nothing about him seems to be checking out. Not a good idea to embarrass the FBI or its Italian equivalent.

Steve Moore is now wailing that someone put a phony resume for him on the Internet. That made us laugh. As far as things look right now, it was Steve Moore himself that did that.  He could of course easily correct for that. Post a real one. Full training and full list of cases investigated with full outcomes.

We can see no sign that he has looked at any evidence other than the ludicrous inventions on Bruce Fisher’s feeble Injustice in Perugia website. He certainly seems absolutely ignorant of the Massei Report, which is the bible now for understanding the crime against Meredith.
