Here we go again la Mellas has been giving interviews that are being splattered all over the net bragging about how hot it is in Amanda’s cell (you see she doesn’t have air con the poor thing) and that she is going to cook some crab cakes on the floor of her cell on her birthday while her cellmate will be cooking a cake.

Tragic isn’t it? Are we supposed to feel sorry here or what? Is that a new low in the Knox/Mellas behaviour? I think this family has now reached a new low at being beyond arrogant and obnoxious. How far will they go?

Who the hell is the victim here? There will be little to celebrate on poor Meredith’s birthday.

Sorry folks, that was just an outburst of anger and frustration that I needed to get out of my system. Hell I feel better…

Also Rudy Guede might conceivably have saved Meredith’s life by calling an ambulance instead of racing off to a disco.

The having-sex claim was dropped at the time of Rudy Guede’s appeal. Why do Biscotti and presumably Guede have to revive it now? Is that having-sex going to be Guede’s claim for the rest of his life?

These sure are three very sick perps. So very, very hurtful to the family and the friends.

Correction to Walter Biscotti’s video translation.  Walter Biscotti never says that Rudy and Meredith had “consensual sex”.

His actual words were that they had a “brief sexual intimacy”. That means petting. He does not imply ever that they had sex.

re: Mellas interview: Would anyone care if Joran van der Sloot were having crab cakes on his cell floor, or getting a t-shirt for his birthday? Or that his mother says his prison cell is unbearably hot in the South American heat? Come on!

The Knox/Mellas PR team are desperately spinning and scrambling to play the sympathy card for Amanda. With their self-centered view, they always reach a new low.

Hi True North. I fail to see any real difference.

Sex with Meredith was claimed at Guede’s trial and Judge Micheli unequivocally dismissed it - dismissed the claim of ANY intimacy between Guede and Meredith in fact. Biscotti is contradicting Micheli here, and he should have been called on it..

Biscotti might be vulnerable to a strong complaint to the Bar Association if he continues to make the ugly and unsupported claim that there was any intimacy between Guede and Meredith, after Judge Micheli unequivocally ruled it out.

Biscotti may also be vulnerable to a suit.

I find the idea that Meredith consented to any of the actions committed against her absolutely disgraceful. 

It is by far the worst suggestion in the letters of Judge Heavey (he says that it is untrue that sexual violence occured). 

The court has heard all the evidence and we all know the result of that evidence as the Italian system means the Judge has to explain his verdict.

As for Knox finding her cell too warm - well, it’s summer.  I’m currently sitting trying to keep as cool as possible myself, it is quite hard in hot weather….

Air conditioning is not as wide spread in Europe as it appears to be in the US, but we do seem to cope, as I am sure Knox will. I share your anger and disgust, Tempusfugit.

The family of Amanda Knox will use anything to deflect the attention from the evidence in this case. Every time I think we’ve seen it all, they stoop to new lows. I am left wondering what will happen when all appeals are exhausted and Amanda Knox is still sitting in prison? Does anybody picture them to just sink into obscurity? Not likely me thinks, not as long as they can squeeze a dollar out of it. They should not be allowed to make money out of another family’s misery, above all considering it was their daughter who caused all this mess. I am disgusted that years later they are still allowed to continue their smear campaign.

The appeals should be interesting. NOT. My guess is we are going to see the same old.

Amanda Knox: “Meredith was my friend. I didn’t have a motive to kill her. I was at my boyfriends flat.”

Rudy Guede: “I had a date and than that evil man killed her while I was in the bathroom. He looked like an Italian man. The only thing I am guilty of is not having called an ambulance to help Meredith. Ah, yes, and I am sorry for that.”

I suppose the new “witnesses” as a last resort already failed before they even got a chance to really introduce themselves. In other words: nothing changed. It all boils down to the evidence.

I just wish this all could finally have an end so that the Kercher’s could come to rest and wouldn’t have to deal with all those ugly people. I am not convinced that they will have any closure at the end of the appeals. I don’t think it will make any difference. In the end we already know why Meredith Kercher died: it’s because Amanda Knox was jealous of her - a lot. I do not expect her ever admitting that.

Nell, I guess you are right. But it is not like the defense could say “Well, they are so guilty, there is nothing we can do really, we are entitled to make two appeals but what can we say? They are guilty, so let it be”. They need to play along, find new “witnesses” (how valuable… ), ask for new analysis of this or that to show they are doing their very best.

It has to be a ugly place to be, after all (but yes, they are well paid to stay there, I know).

The Knoxes/Mellases are disgusting. I cannot bear looking at Edda’s suffering expression, and Curt looks more and more like a robot, he knows the truth perfectly well but after all, he is the one who was not paying child support and left. He does not want to feel he may have something to do in his child’s weird sense of morals…

Amanda should do her best to acclimate herself to the heat of her jail cell in summer.  She will find it even hotter when she arrives in hell!

If knox loses her appeals, she and everyone around her will have to accept it, make peace and live with it.

Knox and Mellas will certainly keep making noises for a while (until no one listens anymore) and keep trying to make everyone believe that their daughter’s trial was a huge miscarriage of justice.

They’ll probably try to get some more important people involved (who will make fool of themselves such as Trump, Cantwell and Heavey etc…) in a last and desperate attempt to get their daughter out of prison. Then there will be nothing they can do anymore.

Eventually they will sit down and realise that their dreadful attitude and behaviour during this whole affair didn’t really help Amanda and that instead of lying through their teeth trying to discredit the entire Italian justice system they should maybe have encouraged Amanda to tell the truth hoping for better deal and a reduced sentence like Guede.

But what worries me though is what if she gets acquitted? Will they all be able to carry on with their lives and look into each other’s eyes as if nothing had happened? Knowing the truth will they be able to live in peace with this terrible murder on their conscience? Will they go as far as trying to make money giving interviews, writing a book and doing talk shows?

The prospect of this happening is truly worrying and frightening!

Yes, they will go as far as… they have no dignity, no loyalty, nothing. Of course, it will bring them only money, and will completely destroy their lives.

They may not realize it now because they are in the middle of the bubbles they are making in their tub, but many people close to them do not believe them anymore. Or have serious doubts. Many people would not want their kids to date Amanda anymore. Those who already did not like Edda and her show will now be openly tired with her.

They destroyed everything instead of helping the truth to come our, and showing they were capable of loving their daugther no matter what, and taking part of the blame of what she had become.

Yes Patou you are right even if she is released their lives is destroyed anyway thanks to their dreadful attitude. Freedom is not the end of it and just like OJ Simpson and so many, the nightmare will go on and on.

I just read a book recently by Lindy Chamberlain called ‘Through my eyes’. It’s the true story of the Australian woman who was accused back in the 70’s of killing her baby. She spent years in jail but was eventually released and exonerated after irrefutable proofs showed that she was in fact totally innocent. She tells in the book the nightmare that her life has been since it happened even though she was proven innocent.

I can just imagine what the Knoxe’s life will be like if she is released knowing that the entire planet knows she is guilty. I just hope they will have a minimum of dignity and do their best to quietly disappear and hide in shame. If only to show some respect to the Kerchers.
