Hard Questions By Italian Journalist Giuseppe Castellini For Sollecito

Posted by Peter Quennell

[Above: Giuseppe Castellini of Giornale dell Umbria has long exposed the Knox/Sollecito lies]

1. Overview Of Italian Media Takes

The fast-growing satires of Knox and Sollecito in Italy described in our previous post are not just emerging in a vacuum.

The many tough crime-show comperes and crime reporters in Italy have rarely let Knox or Sollecito get away with any of their lies. One example was when Bruno Vespa, the host of Porta a Porta, Italy’s most popular crime show, forced Francesco Sollecito to admit to Italy that his son lied extensively in Honor Bound. Another example is when Oggi published some of Knox’s lies and they were rapidly exposed. For seemingly endorsing Knox’s lies Oggi will face trial for obstruction of justice.

There are countless other examples where Sollecito and Knox have been exposed as liars. The super-sharp editor of the Giornale dell Umbria, Giuseppe Castellini, has just published this challenge to Sollecito who had absurdly had claimed that nobody ever wanted to ask him any questions in court.

2. Giuseppe Castellini Questions RS

The translation is by Miriam.

Murder of Meredith: a few questions for Raffaele Sollecito

Raffaele Sollecito, found guilty and condemned to 25 years by the Appeals Court of Florence, for the murder of the English student Meredith Kercher (for the same crime Amanda Knox was also found guilty and Rudy Guede is already serving a definite sentence of 16 years) has stated that he was never questioned in court, because no one ever asked him.

For the record and in order to have a complete picture at, it should be remembered that during the investigation, Sollecito twice took advantage of his right to not respond to the questions of the PM Mignini.

So if it’s true that the prosecutors, in all the trials never asked to question him in court, neither did he ask to be, limiting himself to giving several times making spontaneous statements, without being cross examined.

However, this is not the real point. The fact is that Raffaele could not or did not want to respond to the questions of the investigators.

His version was always brought forth in detail by his lawyers, obviously, but that is not the same thing.

Important questions remain to which Raffaele did not answer directly during cross examination by the Prosecutors. Let’s try to summarize some crucial unanswered ones. Who knows if Raffaele will ever decide to respond in detail right here on these pages even though ““ at the moment ““ it seems improbable. We address him directly, sure that he reads these pages.

1. The first time that you were questioned in Questura you said that the first of November 2007 (Meredith was murdered the night between the first and the second of November) after a walk through downtown Perugia (before that you and Amanda have been in the house in via della Pergola). You came home around 08.00pm while Amanda come back much later around 01.00am, you then changed your version saying that you had always been together. Your first statement seem like a distancing from Amanda, in those hours nobody knows what she did, while the second one has a complete different flavor. Why did you radically changed your version?

2. It’s proved by the findings (even if your lawyers contested it) that the computer in your house was activated for about half an hour from 05.32am till little after 06.00am of the second of November. For the experts of the Police it was certainly a human interaction. You, instead declare that you and Amanda were sleeping. So who was it then that was using your PC at that hour?

3. Your and Amanda’s cell phones were turned off at the same time around 08.40pm of the first of November and they were turned on, practically at the same time, a little after 06.00am of the second of November (at that time you received the “good night” sms sent from your father the night before). How do you explain all this?

4. You stated that you were not in the house in via della Pergola. How it is possible that your DNA is on the bra clasp (17 loci that shows your genetic profile, and for the father of Italian genetics, Prof. Vescovi, that with the current processes are not only enough, but more than enough to match your DNA). And why did luminol revealed a bare right foot print compatible with yours, in addition to the one on the bathmat in the small bathroom? (the size of the big toe, just to point out one thing, is just like yours, while Rudy’s is a lot smaller).

5. Why, if Rudy was the only assassin, in the corridor would he cancel only the bare foot prints, leaving in plain sight always his, but left with the shoe print of his left foot? Doesn’t it come to mind that whoever cleaned up the prints thought to cancel theirs (specifically the ones ascribed to you and Amanda) leaving behind those recognizable as Rudy’s?

6. You and Amanda were seen by the homeless Antonio Curatolo late the night of the murder and Amanda was seen by the shopkeeper ““ that knew you well and already saw you with Amanda ““ enter in the shop at about 07.45am to buy something and go back toward piazza Grimana. You and Amanda say that at that hour you were sleeping in your house. Is there something that can demonstrate this, that up to now has slipped away and that would give you the missing alibi?

3. Questions For RS Of Our Own

We have advanced plenty of questions for the evasive Sollecito of our own. Here are seven examples.

Comments

Great job, again, Peter. That journalist & their org have done the profession proud.

Thanks to Seeking U. & the Machine for their comments in the last post.

Why can some people get away with such obvious lies? I could write volumes, but instead will open it to the floor. :]

I think (and I hope) that when Knox and her partner in crime Sollecito are safely locked away from the general public that the spotlight will (have to) fall on organisations that are paid a fee to manipulate the media and change peoples perception of defendents being tried for serious crimes such as this.

It hasn’t escaped my attention that Marriot has stated that he will keep working to insure that Knox retains her freedom even at the cost of his retirement, almost an ‘until the day I die’ type scenario.

This suggests to me that it is more than a money making exercise for him and he himself has more personal motives invested in the great effort to pervert the course of justice. A kind of paid white knight for sure.

In this case my opinion is that all his efforts will have been in vain as the merchandise will be locked up eventually.

One great thing that could come of this whole sorry affair is that justice will still be done and seen to work, despite a multi million dollar public relations scam to subvert it.

The paid shills will crash and burn with their careers in tatters and the real voice of truth, the journalists with integrity who have resisted the PR dollar and reported the truth accurately will be able to hold their heads up high.

For those who don’t Twitter,

FOA founding member Anne Bremner’s brother Doug, has just posted this at https://twitter.com/dougbremner/status/434179542560043008 comparing the Kerchers to Nazis and their treatment of Jews and Gypsies. The jaw drops.

But then, he also wrote an article on his blog Feb. 01, blaming the family for coordinating an online campaign against Knox, and, without any proof whatsoever, says that John Kercher Jr. is the online commenter The Machine/Harry Rag.

Knox follows up with a blog calling those who believe she is guilty ‘proud, irrational, haters’. She like, her supporters, is truly delusional.

Posted by Ergon on 02/14/14 at 04:15 PM | #

The ridiculous levels to which the campaign is sinking shows the desperation…

Posted by SeekingUnderstanding on 02/14/14 at 04:22 PM | #

It would not surprise me in the least that somewhere down the road there will be an Amanda Knox bobble head doll (by Matel I would assume, Something like ‘Barbi’)

Then there are the T shirts with ‘I am innocenti’ on them. Sure why not they say, it’s all about merchandising. After all if some sleazebag of a porno film producer can offer Knox his petty cash to be in one of his porno films then it follows that others will jump on the bandwagon.

It’s called the trivialization of the great American tragedy where money has become more important than anything else and truth always takes a back seat. Of course Marriot says that he won’t stop either, because to him and the vast majority of Knox supporters it has become a competition with nothing to do with justice.

It is and was all about money and winning against the Italian justice system and to hell with the truth.

This is why the denigration of Meredith and her family plus Mignini and anyone else has produced such vitriolic lies and scorn. Happily I believe that justice will eventually prevail and

I for one will never stop until Knox and Sollecito are in the jail cell they so deserve and the Kercher family can finally gain some measure of peace.

Think about all the lies Raffaele Sollecito has told.

He lied about why he fled across the border.
He lied about pricking Meredith with a knife while cooking.
He lied about using his computer the night of the murder.
He told police in Perugia that he lied because of pressure from girlfriend.

He has probably lied to his dad for years about his drug use.

He lied to Kelsey Kay and an Australian woman about his intentions.

Worst of all he lied starting in 2007 to his father and sister and his lawyers by telling them he was not involved in Meredith’s murder. He told them his girlfriend was not involved and that he wanted to defend her.

He insisted against all reason and prudence as his father begged him to listen to the lawyers.

Here’s the clincher: If Knox had been truly innocent as Raf tried to make his family believe, he would not have been so adamant about tying his defense to hers to give her a cover.

But he was lovecrazed at that point.

Among his lawyers he was swaggering with false concepts of honour. He demanded it be his way or the highway in the legal strategy. He proudly said this in his book.

Imagine the gall of a young puppy wet behind the ears telling expensive lawyers how to operate a defense.

He cared nothing for dad and sister’s heartache or his family’s awful financial expense. They suffered great shame on his behalf as he tried to sell lies as a defense.

Raffaelle in his youth and blindness wanted to play the great hero of Amanda Knox while he threw his family to the wolves.

The only son of the family planned to appear heroic while asking the family to pay every dime for him and do all the work of his heroism.

Their loyalty to this sullen and dishonest boy is truly heroic.

Now he is backtracking on all his bluster, seeing what a dupe he was.

Finally the light is dawning and he sees it was a phantom of his own mind that led him astray. Instead of Amanda he sees Grendel’s mother or a Manga character in Seattle, not quite the dreamgirl he had imagined.

When Dr. Sollecito said, “I curse the day my son ever met Amanda Knox”, it’s possible the doctor could foresee that Knox would be the cause of his own incredible suffering even moreso than his son’s suffering.

The doc had just watched the movie, “The Pursuit of Happyness”, before his whole world exploded by Raf’s hand. Then doctor made same mistake as Raf and pulled a Raf on Vanessa, forcing her to sacrifice everything for a lost cause.

With these men like two blind bats at the wheel following Cruella DeVille Bongiorno down the autobahn to the twilight zone, the family fell like dominoes.

@all4justice

It seems you will need a plug-in. I’ve copied this from pmf.org which sounds like it may help (times are UTC):

Is Amanda Knox Guilty, BBC 3

Mon 17 Feb 2014 @ 21:00
Tue 18 Feb 2014 @ 01:00
Wed 19 Feb 2014 @ 01:30
Wed 19 Feb 2014 @ 20:00

“How can we watch this in the USA?”

You can watch BBC 3 live here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/tv/bbc_three/watchlive

And I’m told this plug-in works well for unblocking BBC iPlayer when watching abroad https://hola.org/</i>

I completely forgot what I was going to say about Sollecito and his lies when I read that tweet.

The abuse directed at Meredith’s family is unbelievable, especially considering that their only interaction with the accused has been to politely request to be left alone.

I don’t know if Bremner is on drugs or has some sort of mental illness. On the one hand, this lunatic’s ravings don’t deserve any attention.

On the other hand, the Kerchers need to know that many people find this outrageous and disgusting and that our thoughts are with them.

@Helder Licht @SeekingUnderstanding, thank you for the encouragement.

The comedy jam of Amanda holding a sign plus the Chipmunks version of her interview has me chuckling wildly, maybe too much.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all at TJMK !

not too much, Hopeful, not at all…it is very funny. clever Italians, but they have a noble tradition with The Jester, non?

The voice in the interview is amazingly matched to AK’s facial expressions..raising of her eyebrows, the faux sighs etc. I was still laughing the second time around.

thanks for Valentine wishes…I always thought it rather nice the way in the US it has become just love ...love for everyone, child to parent, or friend. In UK it’s still more reserved for lovers. I wonder how it is in Italy?

so glad to know the Italian journalists have seen through the nonsense. Guiseppe Castellini looks so sensible and intelligent -and as if honesty matters to him.

The interview is on the YouTube at the top of the post below this one.

While not everybody follows the Italian, it is seriously funny regardless.

I watch it again just for when Knox throws up her hands and shrieks with a manic grin.

There’s a german page that allows you to watch different channels as stream. I always use it when I want to watch TV channels from other countries.

It’s for free, you only have to watch one commercial in the beginning.

I guess it will work from other countries with the “hola” plug-in that Odysseus mentioned in a comment above. So maybe it’s interesting for people who don’t live in the UK. The link is:

http://schoener-fernsehen.com/

Just scroll down in the channel list until you find the channel “UKBBC3”.

But I can’t guarantee that the channel will be online on Monday. It worked yesterday, right now it doesn’t.

I am not a religious person in the going to church kind of thing. However I had to wait for my wife who was in rehearsal for the symphony. (The concert hall is being renovated) the piece was Mozart I think, so I was not involved.

It was in the local cathedral which has the only stage large enough for even a smaller symphony, so I wandered around trying to find coffee. There was a huge bible on a stand and it was open to this page so the local bishop must have been getting it ready for today’s service. I read it and for me this summed it up.

Psalms 5 through 7
To the chief musician upon Nehiloth
A psalm of David

(5) The arrogant cannot stand in your presence, you hate all who do you wrong.
(6)You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the lord abhors.
(9) Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit.
(10) Declare then guilty, O God. Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins for they have rebelled against you.

I was not looking for anything just waiting till the rehearsal was over, but I did read this and considering the ongoing situation I find it apropos.

Doug Bremnah (his wrong spelling) contacted me on Facebook. He was not impressed with what I had called him regarding his birth, but then they can dish it out but being the cowards they are, they cannot take it. However, be that as it may. Rest assured I will always try to stick it in they eye of these people, who in my opinion are dirt and sub human anyway.

Also they are accessories to murder which some people seem to forget. They hide behind their freedom of expression laws where they believe they can say whatever they
wish and get away with it but they forget that there is no anonymity on the web.

Therefore I laugh at their threats against me personally which do not concern me at all since all of them are impotent anyway. I have to admit though that I find it amusing since
these people have never contributed anything in anyway shape or form to humanity other than reproducing other idiots.

I hope the documentary includes detail of witness testimony (note to the FOA, a witness is a person that was actually there and saw it) regarding the behaviour of Knox and Sollecito after the discovery of Meredith’s body in the room next to that of Amanda Knox.

In particular Sollecito “comforting” his frightened, cold and shocked girlfriend while she came to terms with her confusion and bewilderment over the death of her best friend.

The hysterical FOA and indeed Knox herself refer repeatedly to the SKY NEWS footage which shows her and Sollecito kissing at the crime scene while Meredith’s dead body was still inside, claiming it media manipulation intent on painting an image of Knox as a man eating sex fiend and is in fact only 3 ‘comforting’ kisses grossly misrepresented by the media due to being shown and depicted repeatedly.

In the real world however,it shows Knox kissing Sollecito and barely containing a smirk appearing on her face due to all the commotion around them. How she must have been enjoying that moment.

Secondly and more to the point, although this footage does show Knox and Sollecito kissing “only 3 little pecks” it is in fact the ONLY VIDEO captured of this behaviour which had been consistent throughout and made all who witnessed it extremely uncomfortable, with Knox and Sollecito all over each other like a bad rash - dry humping each other brazenly in front of everyone while in the police station waiting room.

Seriously inappropriate behaviour given the circumstances and jaw dropping to all who saw them.

I hope it is laid to rest with the documentary and the general viewing public will then know that this wasn’t just 3 little pecks but actually the only footage captured of their inappropriate behaviour throughout the whole time after the discovery of Meredith.

I really hope that the BBC documentary airs in the U.S. and that it finally discloses to the U.S. what is generally unreported here. I am from the U.S. and am uncommon here in that I think AK is completely and obviously guilty.

The reason so many in the U.S. think she is innocent is because the U.S. media falsely reports it so—egregiously, grossly. As just one example, they make it sound as if AK was beaten half to death to force a confession—gross untruths abound here. I think also, people here have a tendency to think if you are pretty and a girl then it is simply not possible for you to kill.

I think the motives are so clear. AK was likely to lose her job to MK at Le Chic. PL made it clear he preferred MK, as she was fun and a skilled bartender (in contrast to AK who was reported by PL as lazy and self serving, flirting with boys rather than doing her job).

So that night when PL called AK to say you don’t need to come in, it was likely a last straw for AK—who, whether she wished to admit it or not needed the job to earn the money money to fund her growing drug habit.

Combine this with MK who subtly called AK on her tacky behaviors of bringing home random men, being messy and acting downright weird (loud, out of tune singing and many other types of awkwardness)—and the fact that MK was well liked in great contrast to the fact that people were starting to think more and more how weird AK was and creating distance from her—it is not hard to imagine just how hostile AK likely felt toward MK. A combination of jealousy and being revealed for the weird person she was.

A perfect recipe for mean girl revenge.

I personally believe that in some ways the vindictiveness and strength of anger of a mean girl is hard to match. It is not at all hard for me to imagine AK exacting revenge against her roommate who was more well liked, had more friends, was more stable and had her stuff together in great contrast to AK.

It is not at all hard for me to imagine the forcefulness of AK’s rage that night, and the whole thing escalating into a murder (fuelled by the fact that AK and RS were high, as they both admitted).

Posted by aj1880 on 02/17/14 at 09:44 PM | #

Hi aj1880

Good comment. We should maybe examine more the “mean girl syndrome”. Knox was a loose cannon long before she went to Italy.

We have many similar scenarios on the website. The previous night Meredith failed to respond to messages from Knox to get together for Halloween. The sharp-elbowed Knox was losing connectedness with everybody.

We’ll be getting a copy of the Vogt/Russell report on BBC3 which is airing tonight and reporting on it carefully.

Posted by Peter Quennell on 02/17/14 at 10:32 PM | #

@aj1880

Thank you for your comment. I too am hopeful for the programme soon. I have a little saying : faith, hope, and clarity.

From a psychological perspective there is ample motive, and very strong as well.

Interestingly, (ghastly though they are), there have been two other notorious female murderesses this last week, on trial. One in the UK, who had been in psychiatric treatment, and killed a number of men, with sexual connotations.

And the other in the US we are beginning to hear about who is claiming to have been a serial killer.

They are not comparable to the case of AK in a number of ways, but do show something of a female- murder- psychology. Although looking at their photos something ‘looks wrong’ - neither women can be said to be totally unattractive. Perhaps this is something society needs to consider more?

Murders by males, also, are often carried out by ‘OK looking’ men. Some people continue to be taken in by the charm of these people with dangerous psychology.

Personally, I find it difficult to look at photos of Amanda ...I just find her eyes so chilling - my first instinctive reaction is to look away. I can look slightly longer at Raphaele, though I find him spoilt; and Guede again is different. I find he has more normal expressions.(N.B. not to say I am condoning any of the actions).

The BBC3 documentary has just finished and I thought it was a fair overview of the case. I don’t think it could be accused of editorial bias either way.

Still I think any reasonable person not previously familiar with the case would quickly deduce the score and correctly ascribe guilt to the deadly duo, after reviewing all the evidence that was presented.

Well done Beeb. Better late than never:-)

@SeekingUnderstanding

Actually Andrea Voght has definitely fulfilled her aim in my opinion. She was asked on http://www.graziadaily.co.uk why she decided to make the film. She says:

“The producer and I felt there was a lack of accurate and thorough documentation of what has happened so far and why. This is an earnest effort to tell the story in an objective manner, free from the influence of partial outside interests. The BBC is the right place for that”.

Nice dig Andrea at all those commercial media outlets (the great majority it seems) that are not free from the influence of partial outside interests!

Just watched the BBC3 doco, a bit disappointed they skipped over the extent of the multi million dollar PR hate campaign and when discussing the knife in Raf’s kitchen draw it would have been a great opportunity to quote his bizarre explanation of how Meredith’s DNA ended up on there….. “accidently pricked Meredith whilst cooking”!.
Great points made by Lyle towards the end with regards to the extradition process, overall, a well balanced piece, not the usual copy & pasted drivel.

Posted by Urbanist on 02/18/14 at 02:09 AM | #

Hello, Odysseus
I’ve just finished watching it now. I thought it was a good programme. Very well directed (by Andrea Vogt ) and visually well produced - informative, and good to see all or most of the visual evidence in a continuous stream.
I thought it was a shame that when the defence expert Dr Gino said about the mixed blood in the bathroom, that it could have got there any how - someone could have ‘put a finger down on top of the other spot’(?), and so on - that this wasn’t countered with Amanda’s own declaration that the bathroom was clean and without blood earlier, when she had left.
Dr. Gino also, I felt, stretched credibility by saying the DNA of Knox’s ‘might have come from saliva’. Saliva mixed with Meredith’s blood on the bidet??
Also, later, in speaking of the large knife, the excuse of ‘Amanda could have used it cooking’ was cited, but the contrived fiction of ‘Meredith pricked her finger, while at a place she had never set foot in’ was omitted.

So in several ways, they were quite lenient towards the Knox and Sollecito groups….but all in all I was pleased to see this, and it will be a relief if many more people are better informed.
Thank you to Andrea.

The documentary was uploaded here by jamdog of PMF.ORG http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1chkad_is-amanda-knox-guilty-bbc-three-documentary-on-the-murder-of-meredith-kercher_shortfilms

Very good, fair and balanced. I was still disappointed that in dissecting the failed alibis, they did not mention the eyewitness account of Antonio Curatolo, who saw them that night.

Posted by Ergon on 02/18/14 at 06:46 AM | #

Thanks, Terry, for the Schoener-Fernsehen link. It worked for me.

The BBC3 special was very good, compared to the American TV coverage. I was disappointed that witnesses such as Curatolo and Quintavalle weren’t mentioned. But I guess there was a lot of other things to cover in just one hour.
