The Third Book In Our Series On The Case “Under Suspicion” Has Been Released

Our third book on the case Under Suspicion has been published and we are pleased that interest in the series remains high. We’d like to post an excerpt and two excerpts from a True Crime review.
Excerpt from Under Suspicion
When Knox implicated Patrick, investigators were immediately suspicious because of Amanda’s “˜selective recall’. One might also refer to it as “˜selective amnesia’; just as she could remember specific things, she could also not remember specific things. Juxtapose this very specific memory with very specific blanks, and what you have is a kind of chessboard memory, except nowhere near as symmetrical
The most glaring memory-on/memory-off ruse is the one she concocted about hearing Meredith scream; then she goes blank and wakes up in her boyfriend’s bed.
Think about it. One minute she’s at the villa and Meredith is being killed [not by her, by someone else], the next she wakes up in her boyfriend of barely-a-week’s bed. We’re not told anything more. Did Patrick hug and kiss afterward, or go out for drinks, did they high-five each other, did Amanda wash dishes at the villa whilst in the kitchen, did Patrick take a shit, did Amanda walk home or did Raffaele come and fetch her in his car?Amanda waking up late in Raffaele’s bed is also suspicious. In Raffaele’s memoir he writes that Amanda typically got up early, at 05:00. Getting up early as a habit would explain why Amanda was standing outside Marco Quintavalle’s shop before it opened on Friday November 2nd, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense. But if Amanda typically woke up early, and if they were going to Gubbio, why did both of them sleep till 10:00? After having a quiet night watching a movie and talking, and not doing much else [they can’t even remember making love] why didn’t Amanda get up early, as she usually did?
Now remember, Amanda was actually two-timing her American boyfriend David Johnsrud [DJ] with Raffaele, and flirting and sleeping with different guys, yet in her memoir and in Raffaele’s there’s this mischievous ruse of “˜the days melting into one another’ and each day being a repeat of the last, some or other combination of “˜reading Harry Potter, making dinner, making love etc.’. Which is why…..

From Amanda Knox claiming that she could barely speak Italian at the time of the murder, a suspicious advert posted on a university door, excerpts of the memoirs contradicting documented recordings and much more are included in this book.
One example, “ . . .on November 10th, Amanda finally gets to see her mom. In her memoir, Amanda claims among the first words she says to her mom are that she’s “˜so sorry’ and she “˜didn’t mean for any of this to happen.’ Except, when you read the prison visit intercept, those words don’t exist. . .

Edda: “˜Are you sure you’re ok? Are they being okay to you?’
Amanda: “˜It was the police who were being mean; that’s why I said those things about Patrick “˜cause like”¦ When I was with the police, the last time, I was with the police on Monday”¦ “¦’”
Van der Leek describes Knox and Sollecito’s modi operandi with the police investigation. In one incident Knox is, “asked about a text message, denies receiving one and asks to see it. Why does she ask to see it? Because there’s a conditioning thing going on. If they already know something for certain she’ll give an explanation, if they don’t, she won’t.”
UNDER SUSPICION also delves into the invisible evidence which has been all but ignored in the majority of discussions about the case ““ the fingerprints (or lack thereof) at the crime scene As van der Leek points out, lack of evidence is also evidence, and goes on to describe how and why.
UNDER SUSPICION unearths minutiae and scenarios, many of which are often overlooked in the overwhelming pile of evidence that compose this case. “The devil’s in the details.” A thorough combing of this case is required to pick out the nits of manipulative and deceitful behavior of “the wand-wielding rape-obsessed Valkyrie [Amanda] and her partner, the sword-wielding assassin [Raffaele].” Van der Leek also makes a case for the pop-culture occult influence surrounding this attack.
Excerpt from True Crime Review
It was refreshing that van der Leek and Wilson included a closer look at Patrick Lumumba’s experience. The former bar owner appears to be the lynch pin to the explosive end of the beautiful young woman named Meredith Kercher. It seems that Lumumba was truly the only innocent person who had been accused of this murder.
The authors also hold a magnifying glass over the seemingly “˜silent partner’ of this criminal enterprise, Rudy Guede. The second black man arrested for the murder who wrote his own prison diary. Interestingly, he is the only one left of the three culprits who has not written a book. . . yet.

Deceit was excellent with so many pertinent points. I’ll be reading all of the series.
AK and RS claimed to have had a particularly good nights sleep on 1st Nov to 2nd November but if you look at both of their hair on the morning of the 2nd - it looks like straw; the same thing happens to my own hair if I’ve had a particularly bad nights sleep.
But “they planned a pleasant trip to Gubbio”. (with hair like that?). Yeah right.

Never forget that somewhere there are people who laugh at what we attempting to do here. Do not waver or get discouraged but keep on keeping on for as long as it takes. Meredith will not be forgotten and her killers Knox and Sollecito who raped tortured and killed her will not get away with her murder. No matter how long it takes.

All signs are the confidence of the RS and AK forces has taken a dive. We hear they are very concerned. The weak judgment is not what they expected.
Also the Florence court has been quite determinedly moving ahead against the two for the calunnia and the false claims in the books, the mafia angle known about in Italy is no longer unknown in the US and is quite chilling.
And the Marasca/Bruno judgment is an open invitation to a wrongful death charge, and the reputations of Marasca and Bruno have taken a hit.
Plus Knox’s appeal to the ECHR has dropped dead. They were heavily banking on that. Is Steve Moore still AWOL by the way?! Perhaps finding himself a fellow traveler is not his cup of tea…

But I’m also pointing out to anyone who cannot see the progress we are making that there really are people who live in a state of denial and use invective and hollow humor to bolster their own sorry state of existence.
Plus of course, people who are defending Knox for their own ends. People such as Louis Menchise or Tom Mininger who have their own web pages they wish to promote. These people are parasites who just like that famous crime fighter Steve Moore use Knox as a promotion tool.
They could care less concerning guilt or innocence just as long as their web pages are up. Not only that but they have never heard of Meredith Kercher and don’t want to know because they simply want everything to be forgotten.
You’re right about Steve Moore though since he has retired to his secret hideout in his mothers house.

Pardon my scattered thoughts:
Knox, on November 5th/6th, probably freaked that Sollecito pulled her alibi. She might have thought that he accused her of the murder, not the ‘‘lesser’’ implication of her not being with him. Patrick became her ‘‘solution’‘.
Her ‘‘earring cleaning’’ memory is also a red flag. Knox only got them recently, and in the first 6 weeks or so, you don’t take new earrings out. That is how the holes close up. You wait until they are healed ¬ 6 weeks or so. Anyone who actually has piercings knows this. And it’s not like Knox makes cleaning a priority.
If Knox truly wanted to tell her story at the Florence appeal, why wasn’t something like teleconference or video conference arranged? I’m sure prosecutors would have agreed.
Regarding the Knox/Sollecito ‘‘civil war’‘, who acts like this? I’ve known many couples who break up. Most (in a bitter split), have no qualms about airing their partners flaws. AK and RS take pot-shots at each other, but keep pulling back.
True, Guede hasn’t written a book. But according to Sollecito’s lawyers, he didn’t actually ‘‘write’’ HONOR BOUND. And if you watch Knox during interviews (painful, I know), she doesn’t seem to aware of what’s in hers.
What is that expression about the simplest explanation?

Despite the Italian Supreme Court saying the “breakfast” scenario never happened. Once again RS tells a “bucket of lies”.

Great stuff, all grist for the mill.
I’ve just had a look at Knox’s blog and there is a great series of comments in reply to her 8 September “Gratitude for the Marasca report” entry. I think dignified silence might have been wiser given the report’s findings that she was in via della Pergola on the night of the murder, washed Meredith’s blood off her hands, strong suspicion guilt remains, etc etc.
Most of the comments on the blog entry are from the usual collection of fruit cakes, dingbats and tinfoil hat wearing adherents to the Knox cult but there are some great exchanges between a guy called Stewart (he might be a contributor on TJMK, I have no idea), who comes across as an intelligent thinking person with reasonable questions he wants answered, and two other pro Knox types called Tom Mininger and William Benjamin. Stewart destroys them with logic but they seem genuinely so immersed in their adoration of our little Seattle killer that they cannot see the wood for the trees. It’s a classic example of what all of us who engage the pro Knox lobby online have to put up with. I feel Stewart’s frustration!
Last thought for today is that I think Knox has given herself an enormous albatross around her neck by stating that she will dedicate her life to standing up for others falsely accused. Problem being she wasn’t falsely accused at all.
Given her high profile, she will be inundated with requests to attend events, speak at conferences, lend her name to campaigns etc. I can see this burden becoming intolerable, especially as she knows it is predicated on the great big black hearted lie of her innocence. A confected breakdown (blaming continued press intrusion, unreasonable demands on her time etc) and a plea to be left alone to get on with her life probably isn’t too far in the future. It can be used as an excuse to get rid of the dupe boyfriend as well. No need for him now that she’s been let off, legally at least.
She is a terrible actress, the evidence is there all over YouTube. To have to replicate this in front of potentially large audiences repeatedly must be daunting for her. She must review her performances herself and see just how unconvincing she is. Her breakdown when it comes might actually be genuine!
Clearly she made her statement about championing the falsely accused as part of her PR strategy to legitimise herself and perhaps sway the doubters. I would bet the farm that she regrets what she’s let herself in for now though. Good. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving murderess.

AK could demonstrate her sincerity in championing the falsely accused by compensating Patrick as directed by the Court. As far as I know she has no intention of doing so despite enjoying her eternal and lucrative status as a victim of ‘injustice’. Such is her predilection for self deception that she continues to paint her accusation as a false confession.

She is, but will that really stop her terrible acting?
I hope so, but am afraid she will love the attention so much that, even knowing it’s all an Act, she may keep it up ‘til her dying-day.

@Cardiol: It probably won’t stop her terrible acting and you’re right, she loves attention.
It’s when she’s away from the spotlight and lying in bed alone, or dreaming, or even day dreaming, that I retain real hope that the enormity of what she’s done plays hardest on her mind.
As she struggles to convince people and keep up appearances, the continual bending and warping of her mind from innocent in public to guilty as sin when she’s on her own will, I think, lead to her snapping. She’s bending the fork back and forth like Uri Geller (a fellow charlatan, just like she is) and it will eventually give.
Wish thinking again perhaps but time will tell…..
